Ms. Brittney Latrice Peterson

Ms. Brittney Peterson was born October 27, 1990 in Jackson MS to Mckinley Curtis Peterson and Carolyn Denise Peterson She took her eternal rest on July 2th, 2018 in Pearl, MS. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Luvicy Tangle and grandfather Rufus Tangle Sr. Paternal grandfather Mckinley Peterson Sr., an Uncle, Bernard Peterson, and an Aunt, Barbara Tate. She grew up in Jackson, MS where she attended St. Mary’s Catholic school. At St. Mary’s, she began her joy of cheering, and also enjoyed basketball, where she was awarded numerous awards, including Most Valuable player. There, she was introduced to Christ, and received her first Holy Communion. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic school and continued her education at Christion Missionary & Industrial School, where she further enjoyed basketball and Cheerleading. Her high school years included the some of the best highlights of her life. She attended Jim Hill High School, where she continued to excel in cheerleading and also grew a passion for violin, which she studied throughout her high school years. She participated in numerous high school activities including basketball, Homecoming Court, and Junior/Senior prom. She made her debut to society her Junior year at the 2008 Alpha Kappa Alpha Debutante Cotillion Ball. She graduated from Jim Hill High School in 2009. She begin her college studies at Jackson State University in the fall of 2009 where she majored in Sociology and also joined the Jackson State University Cheerleading Squad. There, she met some of her dearest friends that she made a lifetime of memories with. She graduated 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Sociology. Brittney enjoyed her work in retail/customer services. She was currently employed at Men’s Warehouse in Flowood, MS. She landed her dream job as an internal investigator at a private firm, in which she was planning on starting shortly before her untimely departure. Brittney enjoyed her life to the fullest extent. After suffering a health set-back in 2014, She embarked on a journey of friendship, love, adventure, and self-fulfillment. She traveled with friends, enjoyed parties and social events, and frequently attended Church services. She recently traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada and New Orleans, LA. She loved her nephews, Matthew and Mason dearly, and they would light up at very sight of her. She leaves to cherish her memories her parents Mckinley (Carolyn) Peterson, one sister Kanesha (Joseph) Dickerson, one brother, Derrick (Sylvia) Peterson and Paternal Grandmother Pearlie Mae Peterson. Maternal Aunties Emma Thomas, Ruby Tangle, Diane Tangle, Brenda Tangle, Jovonda Tangle and Maternal Uncles, Rufus Tangle and Robert Tate. Paternal Aunties, Crystal Poole, Janice Peterson, Marilyn (Ollie) Porter, Debra (Christopher) Ellis, Verna Peterson, Lulu Rhodes and Paternal Uncle Hugh (Catrisse) Peterson. Nephews who she adored, Matthew and Mason Dickerson, and host of cousins and friends.
