Mr. Cedric DeVonty Pack

Cedric DeVonty Pack, affectionately known as Ced, Pack, or See Pack. was born July 31, 1986, to Johnnie Lee and Naomi Pack. Cedric resided in Brandon, Mississippi where he attended Rock Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bennie Ervin. Cedric attended Brandon High School where he excelled on the football, track, and basketball teams. Cedric, never one to shortstop, also played the trombone and was the section leader for the tuba players in the band. Although he graduated in 2004, he remained an avid supporter of Brandon High School Sports and remained committed to cheering them on at local and championship games. Cedric graduated from Holmes Community College in 2006 where he earned his Associates Degree in Ac-counting. He went on to attend THEE Jackson State University, a fact that he wore proudly. You would often see him swagged out in his Jackson State shorts, all assorted colors, a plethora of Jackson state t-shirts, and he even had the socks. He was Jackson State's biggest fan. He had his personal cowbell to prove it. On April 15, 2013, the baby love of his life, his Light Skin Twin, was born. Cerra "Nae" Elizabeth Pack was the apple of her daddy's eye, He loved her without fault and was so proud of the young woman she was be-coming. You could often find them at the Jackson State games together, with their matching shorts, eating ice cream and dancing to Bruno Mar's Uptown Funk, To say they were "gonna give it to you" was an understatement. Quality time was important to Ced, he often took his Cerra Nae to the Mississippi State Fair, Mardi Gras, Black Rodeo and of course, the WWE. He wanted to make sure that nobody's "dusty son" could have a bigger impression on his daughter than him. Mission accomplished. In 2016, Pack met the love of his life, his beautiful bride Cynthia Cortese or as he would often yell, loudly and proudly, his Tessy Boo. Pack and Tessy enjoyed a whirlwind romance, traveling all over the world, dancing and singing, and having a good time. When the two of them were together, they always shut down the dance floor with their smooth and synchronized moves. As serious as they were about having a good time, the pair remained committed to Christ and even if you saw them out on Saturday night, you would find them in church bright and early Sunday morning. Ced and Tessy united in holy matrimony on January 3, 2019. Surprise! They were so in love and the cherry on their blended family pie, was becoming Ms. Baleigh Nicole's, "Smiley", bonus dad, a role he took seriously and was so proud of, often reminding everyone who would listen, that he was a Girl Dad of two. Ced, a jack of all trades and a person who was serious about his money, began working at Annie D's Restaurant when he was only 15. That was only the beginning for him, he went on to excel as a Manager at CVS, Waffle House, and Terminix Pest Control. In 2018, Ced, an adventurer at heart, began working offshore on the barge. Although he hated being away from home, he enjoyed the opportunity it gave him to travel. In 2020, he became a licensed truck driver with Werner/Dollar General. A job his family can all agree, he and they, en-joyed. Ced excelled in his craft and was a skilled driver. He joined Heniff in 2022 and quickly made an impression as an assertive, skilled driver who was passionate about his craft, Ced made an impression everywhere he went and leaves behind so many people who loved him. At the top of this list, is undoubtedly, his devoted parents, Johnnie and Naomi Pack. Ced made it his business to give his mother, the original love of his life, her flowers every chance he got. They fussed like no tomorrow, but at the end of the day, you would always find the two of them together, at every Jackson State and Brandon High School Game, and even at Fat Tuesday in New Orleans. He made it his business to fill her forehead with thousands of kisses and never said goodbye without adding "I love you”. Ced matched the love he had for his mother, with the love he had for his "Pop." Ced credited his Pop with instilling his incomparable work ethic. He trusted his Pop and believed that if Pop said it was going to be alright, it would be alright. Family was important to Ced and he took his role as brother and uncle seriously. His hashtag for life was that #LoveComesInPacks and he made sure that he showed that love every day. He was never one to shy away from bestowing kisses on his brother, Jeremy, and always made sure to tell everyone who would listen, and even those who would not, that he and his brother came as a packaged deal. If you saw one, you saw the other, whether it was at a football game, family event, or even just out on "The Hill." Always finishing each other sentences, always laughing at the most inappropriate jokes and obscure movie references, and always, always, the loudest two people in the room, they were inseparable. Cedric leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Cynthia, his daughters Cerra and Baleigh; nephew/ God-Son Javien Pack and God-daughter Amya Bowling, his parents, Johnnie and Naomi Pack, his brother, Jeremy(Roslyn), sister, Lisa Pack; aunts Martha Williams, Patricia Houston, Alice Pack; Ora Marshall, (Mike), Virgie Pack, and Sadie Mae Pack; Uncles Abraham(Glory Jean), Tommy (Carolyn), great aunts Minnie Williams and Shirley Spann; great uncle, Eddie Dawson, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and God-children who will miss him tremendously. Cedric is preceded in death by his brother Vincent, VIP, Pack, nephew Johnnie Edward Pack, favorite aunt Tawana Proctor and his favorite uncle Sylvester Houston.
