Mr. Eddie Ray Taylor

Eddie Ray Taylor was born October 23, 1950, in Brandon, MS to the late Mrs. Mattie L. Taylor and Mr. Eddie B. Taylor of Brandon, MS. He transitioned this life July 4, 2023. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Evonne Horne, Gloria Taylor, and John Taylor. At an early age, he accepted Christ and was baptized at Rock Star Baptist Church. He later joined United Baptist Church in Pearl, MS and currently was a member of Cedar Grove M. B. Church in Canton, MS. He grew up in the city of Brandon and graduated from Carter High School. He then attended Coahoma Community College and obtained his associate degree. Afterwards, he then continued his education at Jackson State University. He was an All-American sportsman who played basketball, football and baseball. After college, Eddie began working for Reckitt & Colman later known as Reckitt Benckiser where he was employed for 40 years. Eddie believed in having many jobs, even after retirement, he worked several part time jobs, with the latest one being Enterprise. He was also an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and telling the grandkids all his sports stories and why Brandon, MS know him as "Rabbit". When he was not lending a helping hand, he would enjoy time with his family, friends and attending all his grandchildren sporting events. On September 9, 1972, he united in Holy Matrimony with his college sweetheart, Barbara Ann Taylor. These two were inseparable and were blessed with 50 blissful marital years. You really would not see one without the other. This union was blessed with (3) children, Felicia, LaQuieta, and Selisa. He leaves to continue his legacy, his loving, dedicated and devoted wife, Barbara Ann Taylor; children Felicia Taylor-Cambrit (Chris), LaQuieta Taylor - Johnson (Steven), and Selisa Taylor; grandchildren: Javon Taylor, Quentin Taylor, Zailon Johnson, Christa Cambrit, and Isaiah Rogers; great grandchild, Jayce Taylor; siblings, Mary Kersh John), Jennie Taylor both of Brandon, MS, Renee Taylor-Smith (Willie) of Clinton, MS. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
