Mr. Johnnie B. Rogers

Johnnie B. Rogers was born on March 25, 1942 from the union of the late Eugene Rogers Sr. and Jannie Mae Rogers. He accepted Christ at an early age. He grew up in Fannin, Mississippi where he attended Carter High School. He loved playing baseball and basketball. Johnnie moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1966 in search of a better life. He started working for Ford Motor Company in 1967. Johnnie worked at Ford for 33 years until his retirement in 2003. However, retirement did not stop him from working; after retirement, he transitioned to entrepreneurship starting his own businesses including: a snow remover company and yard equipment repair. In his spare time, he was the father of the neighborhood where he was known to many as: Daddy, Big Daddy, Coach Rogers, Mr. Rogers, and Johnnie B. On March 15, 1976 he was united in holy matrimony to Sennie Mae Martin and to this union, one child was born (The Boy) Johnnie Bernard Rogers. They shared a loving, passionate, and devoted relationship until the day of his passing. Johnnie departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 1:45pm at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan surrounded by his loved ones joined in a circle of love. Preceding him in death is his father, Eugene Rogers St.: his mother, Jannie Mae Rogers; stepmother, Christine Rogers; brothers, Eugene Rogers Jr. and Otis Rogers; sisters, Thelma Howell, Dorene Bryant, Ozella Salter, Maranda Rogers, and Onetha Rogers; and two great-grandchildren. He leaves so many behind to remember his life and legacy, most importantly his wife of 46 years, Sennie; ten children: Dinell Taylor (Joshua), Nathaniel Martin (Sharon), Cassandra Davis, Chattie Levy, Jannie Jean Rogers Miller, Twanna Martin, Terericia Anderson (Reginald), Lasonia Jones (Stanley), Carolyn Daniels, and Johnnie Rogers (Enisha); three sisters, Nadine Lewis, Erie Alexandra (Sanders), Delois Williams (James); two brothers, Clifton Rogers (Leotha), and Clarence: 34 grandchildren, 53 greatgrandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew/brother, Floyd Howell; a special friend whom he considered a son, Arthur Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends.
