Ms. Laura Mae Lacy

Laura M. Lacy was born on August 29, 1942, in Madison County Mississippi to the Late Mr. Robert Chesser Sr. and Mrs. Ella Bell Branson-Chesser. On July 24, 2022, she earned her wings and peacefully transitioned to her eternal home with the Lord. She received her early education in Madison County Schools. Then later continued her education at Hinds Jr. College, where she received her Associate Degree as a Registered Nurse. She loved nursing and dedicated her life to serving and providing excellent care for others. Laura was always willing to give her very best and served her patients with dignity, respect, and true compassion. She united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Leon Lacy Sr. on Nov. 14, 1962. Through this cherished union, they were blessed with three sons and seven daughters. Laura provided support structure to her entire family. She was an outstanding example of a true patriarch. Her legacy will impact her children and family for generations to come. She leaves to remember her memories of three sons; Leon Lacy, Jr (Carine) of Canton MS; Leon Lacy,Ill (Xavier) Biloxi MS; Christopher McGee of (Pass Christian MS). Six Daughters; Gwendolyn White-Rivers (ackson MS); Felesha Shavers (Cedric) Canton, MS; Sheila Tucker of Camden, MS; Stephanie Taylor (Richard) of Canton, MS; Wanda Lacy of Madison MS; Marsha Ashford of Jackson, MS and a host of Grand and Great Grandchildren. Four Brothers: Otis (Rose) Branson of Chicago, IL, Elder Larry (Ozie) Chesser; Cleveland Chesser and Clyde Chesser; Three Sisters: Mary Lee Jones, Hertistine Latiker, and Ella (Lonnie) Watkins; Two brother-in-laws; Ervin Branson and Willie Howard, and a host of nieces, nephews other family and friends. Her husband, Leon Lacy, Sr. daughter Greta K, Lacy; Seven brothers: Emanuel Chesser, John L. Chesser, Guy Lee Chesser, Robert Chesser, Jr., Paul Chesser, James Chesser, Samuel Chesser, and four sisters: Precious Lean Chesser, Genetta Day, Ethel Banson and Levonne Howard; four sons-in-law, Patrick White Sr, Eugene Rivers, Alfred Ashford, Sr, and Stephancy Tucker; and two grandsons; Purvis and Cortez Lacy preceded her in death.
