Mr. Arthur Lacey Brown

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Arthur Lacey Brown, affectionately known as "Mann," who departed this life on April 10, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on December 24, 1974, Arthur was a devoted husband, beloved son, brother, and friend whose warmth, faith, and generosity touched all who knew him. Arthur was the cherished husband of Shelita Brown and the treasured son of Arthur and Christine Brown. He is also survived by his devoted siblings, Doris Jones, Dona (Albert) Brown, and Julius (Laura) Brown; his loving father-in-law, Sullivan Hunter; and his devoted sisters-in-law, Jackie Folks, Charolette Jones, Felicia Hunter, and Chantilly Washington. He leaves behind a host of extended family, dear friends, and his beloved church community who will deeply miss his kind spirit and servant's heart. Arthur's Christian journey began at Baker's Grove M.B. Church in Pocahontas, Mississippi, where the foundation of his faith was laid. That faith would guide him throughout his life and become central to his identity. At Greater Pearlie Grove M.B. Church, Arthur served faithfully, leading the Kitchen Ministry with dedication. He was also an active member of the "It's A Man Thang" Ministry, further demonstrating his commitment to service and fellowship. Arthur and Shelita shared a love story rooted in friendship and faith. He married his soulmate, and their union was nothing short of ordained-built on a foundation of love, respect, and unwavering commitment. The two were married on September 29, 2007, and for 17 beautiful years, Shelita stood faithfully by Arthur's side. In June of 2020, Arthur and Shelita welcomed their dog Bentley into their home, and he quickly became a beloved part of the family-adding even joy, laughter, and companionship to their journey together. Arthur's love for cooking, rooted in family tradition, blossomed into a fulfilling career. His talents led him to build a successful catering business, specializing in grilling and smoked meats. For Arthur, food was far more than just nourishment-it was a ministry. Whether preparing meals for his church, organizing community dinners, or mentoring young volunteers in the kitchen, he saw each dish as an offering of fellowship and unity. Through every plate served, Arthur brought people together, fed their spirits, and lived out his calling. Arthur will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle nature, deep faith, and unshakable commitment to serving others. He demonstrated exceptional resilience with the ability to overcome life's painful challenges making him an inspiration to those who knew him. He was both intelligent and unwavering in his convictions-stubborn in the best way, never backing down from what he believed was right. His life was a beautiful reflection of strength, compassion, humility, and love. He gave generously of his time and talents, always ready to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, or offer a warm meal. Though he is no longer with us in body, Arthur's legacy of love, service, and faith lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
