Mr. Arthur Lee Lloyd

Arthur Lee Lloyd passed away on July 12, 2024, at his home in Baker, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife Mamie K. Lloyd of 61years, his 3 children and their spouses. Leisha and Larry Benjamin of Atlanta, Ga; Detrick Bryant of Memphis, Tn; Charles and Tracy Lloyd of Zachary, La.; his sister Ethel McGee of Pearl, Ms; brother Walter Lloyd (Betty) of Pearl, Ms.; Inez Carr of Pearl, Ms.; Carolyn Lloyd of Pearl, Ms.; Donnell Lloyd (Donna) of Pearl, Ms. and Richard Lloyd; 5 grandchildren-Isaac Bryant; Lilly Bryant; Charles Lloyd Jr.; Monica Lloyd; and Jordan Benjamin; 5 great grandchildren-Isaiah Bryant; lias Bryant; Amelia Bryant; Marquee Lloyd and Emonnie Lloyd. And a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Arthur was born in Pearson, Ms. to the late Willie Lloyd Sr. and Lillian Johnson Lloyd. He attended Carter High School. Shortly after high school, he worked several jobs in local stores as a delivery carrier until meeting Mamie. The two married July 15, 1962, and lived in Pearson, Ms. And to this union three children ere born, Veleisha ("Leisha"), Detrick ("Dee") and Charles ("Wayne"). Arthur later noved to Gautier, Ms. where he, Mamie and their 3 children resided before relocating to Slaughter, La. for the next 7 years where he worked at the Ingall's Shipyard as a welder. Upon securing a better job, he relocated his family to Baker, La. Arthur further pursued his educational training as an Industrial Mechanic to position himself for better employment opportunities. He worked at the James River Paper Mill, where he was employed for 32 years as a Mill Wright Mechanic before retiring. Arthur was highly skilled at his job and received numerous promotions during his tenure there. Arthur later attended LSU where he studied biblical teachings, as he was always eager to learn and understand the word of God. Over the years Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family, and frequently engaged in lots of family activities (i.e. cards, dominoes, cookouts etc.) that were often followed by long hours of laughter and fun. Arthur accepted the Lord at a young age and continued this journey until his death. He was an avid and faithful reader of the Bible, and often facilitated several small group teachings in his home as well as in his local church and other Volunteer establishments for approximately 25 years. He was very passionate when it came to God's word and believed with his whole heart. Arthur lived his life in Christ until the day he died Today we celebrate his life as he joins those who have proceeded him in death, namely his father, Willie Lloyd Sr.; his mother Lillian Johnson Lloyd; his sister Lue Della Wells; his brothers Herbert Lloyd and Willie Lloyd Jr. and nephew Christopher Lloyd.
