Mrs. Blanchie Lee Cannon

Mrs. Blanchie Lee Cannon age 72, passed away Wednesday 23rd , July 2025 at her home in Florence Mississippi. She was born in Puckett Mississippi to the late Elton "EL" and the late Dorothy Briggs. Blanchie was known to her family and friends by the name "Kitten." She moved to Flint Mi. with her mother in her early years. Where her mother met and married her late Stepfather Leroy Briggs. She graduated high school from Flint South Weston High School. She also attended Baker Community College where she obtained her Associate degree in Business Management. She worked for General Motors for 30 years and retired. After she moved back to Brandon, Mississippi where she met and married her late husband Albert James Cannon Jr. They spent every moment together after. Blanchie personality and smile shined so bright she could lift your spirit up if you were down. She loved cooking and creating her own recipes. She had a love of collecting cookbooks. She loved to read, along with an eye for art. The most impressionable unique and creative decorations; and let's not forget about her fashion sense. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She devoted her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a member of New Mt. Zion MB Church. Kitten was preceded in death by her husband Albert James Cannon Jr., her parents: Elton Holloway, Dorothy and LeRoy Briggs, Grandparents: Hersey and Blanchie Purvis, Olivia and Lewis Holloway, one sister: Doris Carol, four Brothers: Donald D. Holloway, Steve Holloway, LeRoy Briggs Jr., Hersey Etoy Ross, and one Nephew: Maurice Holloway Mrs. Blanchie Lee Cannon "Kitten" legacy lives on in all who know her especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Blanchie "Kitten" leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Rosehel Baldwin of Flint MI, and Tarhonda Johnson of Puckett, MS; two sons: Abdul Johnson of Florence MS, and Jerry Nelson of Flint MI; six granddaughters: JacQuette Ross, Dominique Johnson, Shaquilla Baldwin, Aaliyah Johnson, Jordyn Nelson, Jalia Nelson; three grandsons: Clarence Baldwin III, Desmond Hull, and Jalen Wardlow; nine great grandchildren: Ivory Baldwin, Myking French, Khylin Edwards, Calii Ross, Myah Hull, Kanyah Craig, Laelah Hull, Kinsley Baldwin, and Elyjah Hull; one sister: Jewell (Howard) Johnson; four brothers: Kirk Briggs, Mark Holloway, Tory Holloway, and Kenneth Holloway, A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, special cousins: James Lockett, Dwayne Purvis, and Pastor Vickie Williams.
