Ms. Cassandra Reed

Cassandra (Jefferson) Reed was born March 24, 1961 to the union of Scott Jefferson Sr. and Lena Mae Jefferson who both preceded her in death. She is preceded in death by her oldest sister Delores Jefferson, oldest brother Scott Jefferson Jr, and younger sister Jacqueline Jefferson. As a young teen, Cassandra loved the candy business and often carried so much that she earned the nickname "Sandy" to rhyme with candy. Cassandra departed this world on July 25, 2024, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Cassandra attended Brandon, McLaurin, and Richland High Schools. She finished at Richland High School and attended Hinds Community College where she studied Health Care Administration. At a very young age, Cassandra dedicated her life to Christ and never strayed from the path. Cassandra was a member of "Set Free Ministries" under the Leadership of Anthony Dixon of Mobile, AL. Being a lifelong believer, she honored her mother's wish to look after and be a steward for her two brothers. She carried this task from 2002 up until her death, providing care and support for Stanley and James Jefferson. What Cassandra enjoyed most/in life was taking pictures of the precious moments in family member's life and collecting what she termed "good stuff" due to being an avid shopper clothes, jewelry, and anything else that tickled her fancy. In 1979 Cassandra was united in matrimony to Carnelius D. Reed of Chicago, IL which extended her loving family from the Southern Mississippi up to the Northern Illinois. Cassandra leaves two loving children: Antonio D. Reed (Shana) of Mobile, AL and Rico A. Reed (Annika S.) of Fort Belvoir, VA; seven grandchildren: Ketrone D. Brooks-Lyles, Isaiah R. Evans (preceded in death), Angel K. Reed, Jamaya Reed, Raven D. Reed, Maria'Anna Reed, Marci'Anna Reed; and one great grandchild: Jakari J, Rice. Cassandra leaves one sister, Jeanette (Bobbie) Briggs of Florence, MS and two brothers, Stanley Jefferson and James Jefferson both of Florence, MS. Also left to mourn Cassandra was a host of nieces, nephews and friends and relatives. She will be missed but she is finally at peace from the struggles that come from living a life of service and gratitude.
