Mr. Curtis Ray Stubbs

Curtis Ray Stubbs entered into this life on July 13, 1960 in Brandon, Mississippi. He was the oldest of 7 children born to the union of the Late Mr. John Curtis Stubbs and Mary Plaine Sutton. Affectionally known by many nicknames... C Ray, Flood. Pops. Skunk Man, and Driver, he was an avid outdoorsman. Curtis was a handyman around the house. fixing some things. while leaving others requiring special care. repairing cars, grilling when persuaded. growing and manicuring lawns. decorating and designing walkways and sidewalks. Spending his time outside also included being a "professional" fisherman, he didn't need a fish finder he had one built in (it has been proven). Curtis met the love of his life in 1991. After a very lengthy courtship, he married Cheryl Barnes Stubbs and stepped in and became a father to one daughter. Brittany Barnes and one son that preceded him in death. Curtis Ray Stubbs Jr. Curtis found Christ later in life after attending church at Greater Antioch M B Church under the stewardship of Pastor Clyde Tate. His desire was to be an example of the man God created by showing Love. Grace. and Humility toward his fellow man. Family was important to Curtis and he loved getting together to hang out with his family. It didn't matter to him if he was with all or 1 member of his family. the vibe was always the same, to enjoy the time together. Curtis departed this life on August 24, 2025 with his wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his father. John Curtis Stubbs, his maternal and paternal grandparents. as well as aunts and uncles. Curtis leaves behind a legacy of laughs and cherished memories including. his devoted wife. Cheryl Stubbs, daughter, Brittany Barnes. mother. Elaine Garrell: Three sisters Angela (Tyrone) Samuel of Ridgeland. MS. LaTrenda Stubbs of Jackson, MS, and Barbara (Bernard) Wallace of Jackson, MS: Three brothers James (Sharon) Stubbs of Jackson, MS, John Lee Stubbs and Jimmy Stubbs. both of Brandon MS: Two sister in laws Regina Barnes of Mendenhall. MS and Michelle Barnes of Jackson, MS. Six Brother in laws, Michael (Althea) Barnes, Leevell (Myra) Barnes jr. Cedric (Geneva) Barnes, and Reginald(TaMarra) Barnes of Memphis. TN. Gerald (Sirlina) Barnes, William Barnes both of Mendenhall, MS ; a host of nieces. nephews, cousins, Adopted children from Thee JSU, including Tehesheia Brooks and Sheena Daniels and a very special Friend Craig Ainsworth.
