Mr. Darren Sampson

ROMANS 8:38-39 Mr. Darren Sampson was born October 15, 1965 in Jackson, Mississippi to Ms. Casandra Sampson and Mr. Jimmy Sampson. His older brother Neal affectionately gave him the nickname "Bit" which is short for "Little Bit" because he was a really small child. Darren was educated in the public schools of Rankin County. He is a 1983 graduate of Richland High School. Darren also attended Jackson State University. Darren's smile and charismatic personality afforded him a career in customer service and sales at Sears, Reeds and Kroger for many years. With an infectious smile and the gift of gab, he never met a stranger and was bond to know someone that you knew in the course of conversation. This is evident by the many calls, expressions of sympathy and messages shared via social media. Darren joined the Brown Hill Missionary Baptist Church early in life and remained a faithful member until the time of his passing.He served as an usher for many years and was a member of the finance committee. Although Darren never fathered any children biologically, he affectionately claimed his niece Eva Sampson Thompson and cousin Ashton Johnson as his own. Darren rarely missed a sporting event or any special occasion in their lives. Anyone who knows him knows of them and the pride and love that he had for them. On Tuesday, October 18th God directed the angels of grief to bring Darren back into His presence. The only one who gave him life and the only one who can command it back. Darren's body may be absent from us but his memory will forever live in the hearts of his loving mother, Casandra Sampson, Florence; father Jimmy Sampson, Star; brothers Leslie Neal (Gladys), Jackson; Nelson Mannie (Cheryl), Jackson; Dalvin Sampson, Jackson; Courtney Gipson, Florence: sisters Shalanda Stewart, Braxton; Kimberly Brookins, Jackson; Tanya Sampson, Denton, Texas; Jacquelin Spencer (Alvin), Jackson; Goddaughter Eva Sampson Thompson (Jamal), Jackson; Godson Ashton Johnson, Florence; Godsister Lavette James, Godbrother Randy Smith, Mendenhall, a mass of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
