Mr. Jerry Johnson

Brother Jerry Johnson was born July 22, 1960, in Rankin County to Jessie B. Johnson, Sr. and Marie Mangum Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death. He finished his earthly journey on February 12, 2020. Also preceding him in death were two siblings: Perry Johnson (his twin) and Teresa Monica Johnson. Jerry grew up in Pearl MS, where he attended the Pearl School System. Jerry was employed with Sara Lee/Specialty Inc. as a truck driver until he retired. With a deep rooted love for Mississippi, he found happiness in Rankin County and united with Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness USA where he was a faithful member. He served as a member of the Usher Board, Men's Choir and The Brotherhood. Jerry united in Holy Matrimony to the "love of his life", the late Anglur "Gail” Hough on December 19, 1992. They were married 26 years. Through this union no children were born. They were blessed and honored to have 3 godchildren: Keyonna Buchanan, Cedrick Hough and Amber Hill. Jerry leaves to cherish his memories: his brothers, Reverend Jessie Johnson Jr. (Shirley), Kenneth Johnson (Diana), Sheddrick S. Johnson and Courtney Johnson (Shatarie); sisters: Shirley Shoto (Elmore Jr.), Linda Collier, Sandra Arnold (Marvin), Deborah Cousin (Michael); Sisters-in-law: Ora Buchanan and Debra Conley. Jerry has a host of nieces and nephews: Joisha Floyd, Montez Johnson, Natasha Thomas, Jessica Johnson, Jessie Johnson III, Constance N. Jones, Elmore Shoto III, Jeffery Arnold, Janay Arnold, Kenneth Johnson Jr. and Matt Johnson. Great nieces and nephews: Courtney Jr., Talesha, Teresa Monica Ojell, Chaniya, Jace, Kali, Chandler, Jade, Kayden, Kai, Alex, Bryson, Cleavon, Jareem, Harle, MJ III, Hannah, Rebekah, Taylor Marley and Aria-Marie. Aunts: Carrie Moncrief (Floyd), Bessie Chancellor (Rudolph), Clara Therrell (James), Floreece Atkins (Homer), Sue Nelson (Lee), Bonnie Blackmon (Robert) and Oris Mangum. Uncles: Elder Chester Mangum (Jean), Ben Mangum (Eva), John Garner. Jerry also has a host of cousins and friends. Special memories will be cherished by Darrell Thompson (Glenda), Roger Jenkins, Larry Calendar, Sr., Pheona Lewis (Kevin) and Velma Leggett Grant, close friends.
