Mrs. Lillie Ruth Adams

Lillie Ruth Adams, born July 21, 1929, to the late Arthur Milner and the late Mary Ella Grant in Brandon, Mississippi, lived her life in full expression of the Proverbs 31 woman. The oldest of 13 children, Lillie was raised in a Christian home where she was taught the word of God and the importance of living a devoted Christian life. Anyone who believes me and is baptized will be saved... In July 1936, at the age of 7, Lillie confessed Christ, was baptized, and joined True Vine Baptist Church. From that point forward, she devoted herself faithfully and whole heartedly to serving her Savior in each season of her life. She served on the Usher Ministry and the Mission Ministry for over 40 years. She was also a member of Heroine of Jericho for 47 years. Lillie was married for 56 years to the late James Oliver Adams who walked along side her in service to God. Together they were blessed with seven children. Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies... Lillie received her formal education from Piney Woods School. This foundation enabled her to be gainfully employed in the Childhood Education field for over 50 years. With her education and love for people Lillie had a profound impact upon her family, church, community, and surrounding areas. She was known for her love and compassion for everyone, especially children. Her favorite pastime activities were gardening, quilting, cooking, cleaning, and watching her favorite TV shows. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith... On Friday, November 1, 2024, Lillie Adams' family stood by her bedside as she faced the sunset of her days on earth and entered her rest joining her precious Savior in eternity. She has left to treasure her memory and live out her legacy, two daughters: Debra E. Adams and Connie ]. Adams; two sons: Lonnie W. (Angela) Adams and James D. Adams; two ex-daughters-in-law, Darlene Adams and Alice Milner; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; six siblings: Emma Gibson, Bernice Gibson, Betty (Clarence) Jefferson, all of Brandon, Mississippi, Idella Bennett, Mary Smith of Chicago, Illinois and Virginia McLaurin, Junction City, Kansas; one special uncle, Johnny (Edna) Winsley of Brandon, Mississippi She was preceded by death by three children and seven siblings. Lillie Adams used her gifts and talents to plant many seeds that will bear fruit in the lives of those who knew her for years to come. She will always be loved.
