Mrs Loretta Tillman

Loretta was born to Loretta Manning Bessie and Earl (Pink), Manning in Detroit, Michigan. As God called and Loretta answered, she transitioned from this earthly life to a life of eternity on Wednesday afternoon, June 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her father Earl, mother Bessie, brothers Earl (Pink) Manning, Jr., Henry Fisher Manning, Pink Manning, Jr., Abraham Manning and sisters, Lucy Hamilton, Rebecca Green, Earline Manning and Sarah Dooley. Loretta graduated from Central High School in Detroit, Michigan. After graduation, she moved to Washington, D. C. to work as a page. In the early 1970's to be with her daddy, who had retired, she moved to Mississippi. With her two daughters, Kimberley and Kelley, she started a new journey. Her father later passed and she enrolled in nursing school. She graduated and became a Licensed Practical Nurse from Hinds Community College. She began employed at the University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi where she met her husband, Frank Tillman, Sr. She returned to school and obtained a Registered Nursing Degree with honors. Her other professional involvements include but are not limited to: serving as a Legal Consultant and Expert Witness for a large law firm, Nursing Instructor and served on the Hinds Nursing Allied Board, Nursing Home Executive and Administrative Consultant for Beverly Enterprises. In 1977, Loretta gave birth to a baby boy, Frank (Keenan) Tillman, Jr. She had an insatiable passion for music, shopping, decorating, cooking and gardening but most of all spending time with her family and friends. Loretta was notorious for being a word smith who had a passion for education. Too, she was a progressive, forward thinking motivator. Most of all, she motivated those she came in contact with and magnetized others with her kind, warm, sympathetic, compassionate heart. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Frank Tillman, Sr., one son; Frank "Keenan" (Demetrice) Tillman, Jr., two daughters; Kelley (Alex) Finch and Kimberley Cole, one brother; Leroy Manning Emery, eight grandchildren; Chris, Paula, Brandon, Kameron, Kayla, Kayden, Addison and Aden, nine great grandchildren; Brison, Chandler, Christian, Preston, Brandon, Keirston, Kailyn, Brandon, Jr., and Logan. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
