Mr. Maurice McLin

Born Maurice McLin on July 20, 1968, in Jackson, Mississippi, Maurice was the fifth of six (6) children. His parents, the late Lloyd C. McLin, Sr. and Lucille Smith McLin, preceded him in death. Also, his brothers Michael and Lloyd McLin, Jr. along with nephew Calvin McLin preceded him in death. Maurice, affectionately known as Mario, was a one-of-a-kind man who definitely portrayed the characteristics of a born leader. By the age of four, his family had relocated to Brandon, Mississippi to be closer to his father's job in Rankin County, Mississippi. Therefore, he was enrolled in Rankin County School District. During his numerous scrolls through the halls of the school system, he was dually noted as a comical individual who was the life of the party. During these tender days of youth, he enjoyed playing football, breakdancing, emulating the infamous Michael Jackson and roller skating. Later he became a lover of fishing and gave away most of his catch to neighbors and the entire community. In addition, he loved caring for children and animals, especially his own German Shepherds, Black and Snow. He had done so because of the giving heart he had and when you visited him, you would not leave without getting a gift even if it was a bag of chips. He received his Christian foundation in his youth under the leadership of the late S.L. Taylor and attended the Lee Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sandhill, Mississippi. After high school, he entered the workforce and became gainfully employed with the Sun Pine Corporation for over 15 years. He later entered into the landscape business until his prone allergic health conditions did not permit him to continue in this profession. This prompted him to rely on the talents that God had given him. He was notorious for collecting all types of items and restoring them, carving wood and sculpting them into beautiful eyesores. On December 16, 2018 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Maurice expired from this earthly life at his home in Brandon, Mississippi after an asthmatic attack. He leaves to cherish loving memories of him, three sisters; Elease McLin and Regina McLin (James LaVaughn) Schaffer both of Jackson, Mississippi and Katrina McLin of Brandon, Mississippi, three nephews; Terry McLin who was like a son, of Brandon, Mississippi, Nicholas McLin of Jackson, Mississippi and Gowan (Nicole) McLin of Sacramento, California, three nieces; Jalisa, Alisha and Brianna McLin all of Jackson, Mississippi, one uncle; Charles E. (Melbah) Smith of Brandon, Mississippi, four aunts; Ruthie McLin of Jackson, Mississippi, Ruth Boyd and Jeannette McLin of Morton, Mississippi and Johnnie McLin of Oakland, California, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
