Ms. Philoneice Myers

Ms. Philoneice Myers was born on February 6, 1953, in Goshen Springs, Mississippi, to the late Mr. Aaron Myers, Sr., and Mrs. Alona Lee Myers. She accepted Christ as her Lord and personal Savior and faithfully served at St. Mary M. B. Church in Flowood, Mississippi. While attending St. Mary, she was an active member of the Program Committee, Kitchen Committee, and Usher Board. She also served as a Sunday School teacher for young ladies for many years. Philoneice attended Carter High School in Brandon, Mississippi, from the first through the eleventh grade and was a proud graduate of Pearl High School, Class of 1971. After high school, she moved to California, where she lived for ten years before returning to Mississippi in 1981. She was employed with the Rankin County School District, where she worked in Special Education, and also worked at Kroger in Brandon, Mississippi. She then began her career as a dedicated deputy clerk with the Rankin County Chancery Clerk's Office, where she served faithfully for 26½ years before retiring on January 30, 2020. Philoneice enjoyed shopping, spending quality time with her family, hanging out with her sisters, traveling, and dining out. Nowhere was her joy more evident than in the love she poured into her family. Affectionately known as "Aunt Neice" by her nieces and nephews, she took great pride in spoiling all 26 of them. Affectionately known as "Aunt Neice," she introduced her nieces to makeup, sparking a love that stayed with them and was proudly passed down from her. She was truly a Fashion Fair cosmetics queen. She was likely the one family member who kept subscriptions to Jet, Ebony, and Essence, along with many other magazines. And no one ever left her presence without hearing her signature reminder, said with love and just a little authority: "Be particular!" Her words were her way of reminding everyone to mind the details and carry themselves with pride. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Alona Myers; her twin sister, Miloneice Myers; her brother, Douglas M. Myers; her nephew, Enoch D. Bryant, Jr.; and her niece, Katrena Jo Bryant. Philoneice made her grand entrance into Heaven on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 6:27 p.m. She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings: Aaron (Ida) Myers, Jr.; Vernarsie (the late Steve, Sr.) Hobson; Jerry (Bonnie) Myers; Mae Katheryn (Enoch, Sr.) Bryant; Pastor Terry (Audrey) Myers; and Neva Jo Bryant. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Annie Mae Myers; her uncle, Joe Spencer; her aunt, Frankie Lee; and her special niece and caregiver, Terri Denise Williams, along with Terri's children, whom Philoneice lovingly referred to as "her grands," Caleb Williams and Cameryn Williams. In addition, she leaves to cherish her memory a host of beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
