The Tip-Off! On December 13, 1978, in Wisconsin, the game of life began for Prentiss David Wilson Sr., lovingly known to many as "Spook." Born to Helen Pinkston and Howard Ragsdale, he entered this world with strength, purpose, and a presence that would leave a lasting mark. On February 19, 2026, the final buzzer sounded on his earthly game. Though his time on this court has ended, his legacy, his love, and the memories he created will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him best. First Quarter - Foundation & Early Victories From a young age, Spook built the foundation of resilience, loyalty, and determination. He learned early how to stand tall through life's challenges and how to protect and care for those he loved. In 1998, he graduated from Morton High School, a proud and defining accomplishment. That same year, he helped secure the 1998 MHSAA Class 3A State Basketball Championship, under Head Coach Danny Grieves, a victory that showcased his competitive spirit, discipline, and love for the game. Winning wasn't just about the scoreboard for Spook, it was about teamwork, heart, and playing with passion, As a brother to Tyesha, Myesha, Angel, and the late Stacy Wilson, he shared lifelong bonds built on laughter, memories, and unconditional love. Family was always his home court, his safe place and his strength. Second Quarter - Love & Commitment On June 28, 2004, Spook made one of the greatest plays of his life when he married Patricia Fairley. Their marriage was built on love, partnership, and devotion. Through every season of life, they stood side by side, building a family grounded in commitment and resilience. He took pride in being a husband. Loyalty wasn't just something he talked about, it was something he lived. Third Quarter - Fatherhood Legacy If life were a championship season, fatherhood was his MVP run. Spook was most proud of being a father. His children, PJ, Payton, and Stacey, were his greatest victories and his living legacy. He loved deeply and protected fiercely. He led in his own way, teaching strength through action and perseverance through example. His love for his children was steady, present, and real. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Patrick Wilson, a loss that forever touched his heart. He is also reunited with his sister, Stacy Wilson, and his nephew, Chance Walker. Though their absence was deeply felt, their memories were always part of him. Fourth Quarter - Impact & Enduring Strength In the final quarter of his life's game, Spook continued to show what mattered most; family, loyalty, and heart. He was authentic, strong, and unforgettable. His presence brought comfort, and his spirit carried weight. He fought with enduring strength until the very end for those he loved most.
