Mrs. Sadie Amos McIntyre

Sadie Virgina Amos Mcintyre affectionately known by family and friends as "Sis", "Mama Sis", "Aunt Sis" and "Sadie B". Sadie was a true example of Proverbs 31"A Virtuous Woman". She was a blessed woman of God full of class, wisdom, dignity, integrity, and peace. Sadie was born July 14, 1935, in Florence, Mississippi to the late Mr. Henry Amos and Mrs. Hattie Berry Amos. On Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10:02 p.m. Sadie transitioned to her heavenly home. Sadie was proceeded in death by her four brothers: Allen Amos, Wallace Amos, Thomas Amos, and Chester Amos; one sister Dorothy "Jena" Mangum. Sadie professed her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Brown Hill Missionary Baptist Church her entire life. On January 17, 1957, Sadie married the love of her life the late Mr. Eddie James McIntyre. She was married to her honey for 61 years. They had to wonderful children Gregory and Vera. Sadie attended New Hope School in Florence, MS. She was gifted with a passion of taking care of others. After completing school, she began her career at The Mississippi State Hospital as a Nurses Aid, and later became the supervisor. She loved people and lived to serve others. After 30 years of hard work and dedication, Sadie retired from The Mississippi State Hospital. Although Sadie was retired, she never gave up her passion of caregiving. Sadie was blessed to take care of her 102-year-old mother "Mama Hat" until the Lord called her home in 2017. She worked for the Milton family for over 35 years until May of 2023. From cooking, to cleaning, and making sure the Milton family had their holiday dinner each year. Sadie loved her extended family. Outside of work Sadie enjoyed spending time with family, playing games on her tablet, cross word puzzles, and chatting on her phone with her friends. On Sunday mornings, before watching worship service she and Greg would share their weekly cup of coffee and conversation. She prepared Sunday dinner for all her babies, with Greg getting his plate first. Her stove would always have a hot meal with her delicious cooking. Dressing, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, sweet potato pone, cornbread, and coconut delight was her famous Sunday dinner. Sadie "Sis" leaves to cherish her memories: her loving son Gregory (Gloria) Mcintyre and daughter Vera Andrews both of Florence, MS; her pet puppy "Mister"; one granddaughter, Denise Andrews "Brown Shuga" of Florence, MS; four grandsons, Eddie Andrews (Shelia) of Byram, MS, Jeffery Andrews, Jason Lewis, and Gregory Birch of Florence, MS; nine great-grandchildren: La Trease Corbitt, Paquita Andrews, Dajiah Taylor, Jaylen Forbes, Eddie Andrews Jr. Alexus Andrews, Christian Andrews, Destenie Thomas, and lan Black; Alton Beal and Erin Black; three sisters: Marjean Boyd (James), Velma Owens, and Cecil Ruth "Tinky" Amos all of Florence, MS; sisters-in-law: Allean Adams, Jerry Buckhalter (Andrew), Peggy McIntyre (Robert), and Bettie McIntyre all of Fannin, MS; 94 year old niece Helen Cheatham of Florence, MS. She leaves to cherish all her nieces, nephews, cousins, proclaimed children, and friends. Sadie touched many lives with her smile, humorous personality, her willingness to give and do for others, and most importantly her "LOVE". Our "Sweet Sadie" will be missed immensely.
