Mrs. Samantha Smith Gipson

Samantha Smith-Gipson, affectionately known by her family and friends for her warmth, laughter, and joyful spirit, was born on December 30, 1961, to the late McKinley C. and Leona Smith. She peacefully departed this life on August 23, 2026 at St Dominics Hospital. Samantha dedicated many years of her lite to the nursing profession. She was educated at Ole Miss and Maryville University and worked as a Nurse Practitioner. She found purpose in caring for others and making a difference in the lives of those she served. Her career reflected her compassionate heart, dedication, and desire to help others. Beyond her professional life, Samantha enjoyed life to the fullest. She cherished laughter, fellowship, and, most of all, spending precious time with her family and friends. Her presence brought warmth and happiness to those around her, and she will be remembered for the love, kindness, and beautiful memories she shared with so many. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Gipson, whom she married on February 22, 2022, and who stood by her side through all the joys and trials of life. Together, they built a blended family filled with love and laughter. Samantha also leaves to cherish her memory her son, Percy "Rock" Holmes; three daughters, Mary Hunter, Sherie Gipson, and Charlene Thompson; one son, Jaron; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Stone of Itta Bena, Mississippi, Vinester Smith of Jackson, Mississippi, and Dorsa Jones (Tyrone) of Pearl, Mississippi; three brothers, Dr. Joe C. Smith (Yolanda) of Drew, Mississippi, Dr. Ted Smith (Deborah) of Fayetteville, Carolina, and Mr. Larry Smith (Marja Liisa) of Finland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Samantha was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ramon Smith; her dear parents, McKinley C. and Leona Smith; her three brothers, Danny, William, and Link; and her dear sister, Amelia. Though Samantha's earthly journey has come to an end, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed but forever remembered. "Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always near."
