Ms. Sandra Danette Peterson-Lott

Dr. Sandra Peterson Lott received her call home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 26, 2025, at the age of 58. She was born on March 15, 1967, in Flowood, Mississippi, and grew up in Ludlow, Mississippi, where she was raised lovingly with a firm foundation of faith and compassion beneath her. Sandra was the beloved daughter of Clarence Jefferson (Bettye) and Classie Ward. Sandra was raised in the loving home of her grandparents, Clarence and Lucille Peterson, alongside her cherished aunt, Daree Wilson, who treated her as their own until she transitioned to her mother's home. She also had a bonus father, Minister Arthur McAllister, who assisted with her upbringing and cared for her as his own, along with her loving sister, Felesia McAllister. Throughout her upbringing, she was surrounded by love and raised with a firm foundation rooted in God and service to others. She was once married in her early twenties to her late forties to Edward Lott. She was the mother of Kary Unique Lott and Mercedes Classique Lott, who cherished her dearly, and the treasured grandmother of Elijah Evan Lott and Catori Mae Bridges, with one beautiful granddaughter, Sahira, on the way. Her beautiful family circle was further enriched by her soon-to-be son-in-law, Michael Nelson, and her special friend, Mr. Henry Hayes, who brought her much joy in her final years. Her journey in edu cation was a testament to her unwavering determination and passion for healing. After graduating from Morton High School, she continued her pursuit of knowledge at Hinds Community College, and later, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she obtained her nurse practitioner degree. Her professional path led her through meaningful positions at Whitfield State Hospital, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Simpson General Clinic, and Raymond Detention Center before she made the ground Ibreaking decision to open her own clinic, Alpha and Omega Health Services, in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Among her career journey, Sandra found accomplishment in publishing her autobiography, "Temporary Power Outages", a feat that she was incredibly proud of. At an early age, Sandra professed her love for Christ. She was a member of Lone Pine Church in Lena, Mississippi, and later became a devoted member of Rose Hill M.B. Church in Mendenhall, Mississippi, where she served as a faithful member. Within her church, Sandra formerly served in numerous roles such as senior choir president, Sunday school teacher, women's mission president, and numerous other roles. She loved her pastor and first lady, Pastor Arthur Milton, Sr. and Sis. Dorothy Milton, and she cherished her Rose Hill church family and community dearly. Sandra was blessed with intelligence and numerous talents, but her greatest gift of all was her dedication to serving people for God, her life's mission. She lived a life filled with love and joy, passion for the world around her where moments such as the birth of her children and grandchildren, completing her schooling, and being licensed as a nurse practitioner defined her the most. Sandra's love of traveling will already be remembered, as well as her utter joy of being around family and friends. She found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life such as mowing her grass, which was known as her down and peace time, a reflection of her appreciation for life's quieter moments. Sandra leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her loving family: her parents Clarence Jefferson (Bettye) and Classie Ward; her children Kary Unique Lott and Mercedes Classique Lott; her grandchildren Elijah Evan Lott, Catori Mae Bridges, and her granddaughter to be, Sahira; five brothers, Chris Jefferson, Jeffrey Jenny) Jefferson, Patrick (Deborah) Durr, Michael (Casey) Spann, and Alec Jefferson; four sisters, Sharon Harvey, Felesia McAllister, Andrea Jefferson, and Latonya Web; her beloved godparents Pastor Joe and Sadie Taylor; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, including Crystal Roby; and too many bonus children to name including Chanda, Gregory, and Chaneka Roby, who all loved her so much. She also leaves behind her patients, who were blessed by her compassionate care, her special staff, Nicole Peacock, and those who believed in her clinic's vision of wellness including Sarah Peacock and Nickie Floyd Sr. Dr. Sandra Peterson Lott's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of faith, service, love, and dedication. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched as a healer, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, and a faithful servant of God. While we celebrate her homegoing, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit of love and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we are reminded that her temporary power outages on earth have given way to eternal light in the presence of the Lord she served so faithfully.
