Mr. Terence LaRue Spence, Sr.

Terence "Terry" LaRue Spence Sr. passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, and is now in eternal rest with the Lord. He peacefully transitioned at his residence in Richland, Mississippi. Terry was born on February 28, 1970, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Harvey Spence Jr. and the late Betty Jean Spence: He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Spence; his daughter, Christina Spence; one sister and brother, Micheal Spence; his maternal grandparents, Samuel and Ethel Norwood; and his paternal grandparents, Harvey Sr. and Marie Spence. Early in life, Terence joined Spring Hill Church Missionary Baptist Church. This is where he gave his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He sang in the choir and the Spring Hill male chorus. Terry enjoyed playing basketball at Richland Attendance Center, where he was part of the graduating Class of 1989. During his years in school, he met his lifetime friend, Swan Spence. They spent many good years as a union and it produced three beautiful kids. As a young adult, he worked for JL Roberts Plumbing. Shortly after mastering his skill set, he started his own business in 2005. Terence Spence Plumbing was a great success and it would be his last occupation. Terry truly enjoyed his work throughout the years. He was hardworking and good with his hands. He also loved to travel with his friends and family. Traveling is where he would experience a lot of great memories that he cherished. Terry loved playing pool and listening to blues. He would not only find it entertaining but peaceful. Terry was kind and generous. He would crack jokes, shyly smile and laugh with joy. Terry was a great friend, cousin, husband, brother and son. He was an even better father. May he rest peacefully. Terence is survived by his son, Terence Spence, Jr.; his daughter, Tarrion Spence; his father, Harvey Spence, Jr.; his brother, Jeffery Spence, Sr.; his sister, Rhonda Anderson(Robert); his brother, John Smith(Wynell); two grandchildren, Tristan Spence and Tinsley Davis; two nieces, Jasmine Smedley and Janaya Spence; and nephew, Jeffery Spence, Jr. We would like to highlight some additional family members who made a difference in Terry's life: his great aunt Johnnie Mae Lewis and great uncle Ernest Lee Lewis; his aunts, Ella May Cox, Lula May Estling, Frances Spence, Ear Stone Norwood, Carolyn Brunson Robert), and Earnstine Norwood; his uncles, Rex Spence and Gordon Spence. His special cousins; Tony Norwood, Micheal Norwood, Pernell Norwood, Calvin Norwood, Michele Wells Norwood, NaTasha Norwood-Brent, Tiffany Norwood-Robinson, Joshua Brunson, June Spence, Nancy Bomer, Mike Norwood, Dewayne Coleman, and Kenneth Wells.
