Mr. Thomas Lee Jones

A TIME TO BE BORN: Mr. Thomas "Tommie Lee" Jones made his entrance into the world on March 13, 1940, to the late Ivory and Elizabeth Jones in Canton, MS. A TIME TO PLAN AND WORSHIP: "Tommie Lee" accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. Later in life he became a member of New Hope Grove Baptist Church where he re-dedicated his life and was baptized at the age of 64. He attended and served faithfully beside Sister Margaret Cox. Even during his failing health, he still continued to serve the Lord and prayed daily for his family and friends. One of his greatest joys was his grandbabies. He pushed his daughters to achieve anything they put their minds to accomplish and to honor the Lord for blessing their lives. He taught his family the value of prayer and honoring the Lord no matter what was happening in life. A TIME TO WORK AND LOVE: After the completion of high school at A.M. Rogers High School in 1960, he immediately attended the Madison Country Training School, where the love of driving trucks came to life. After training school, he moved to Jackson, MS where he married his first love, Odessa Jemison. "Tommie Lee" remained a dedicated truck driver with Kleen Steel for 10 years. Afterwards, he then began his next trucking journey with BFl, where he would drive for more than 25 more years. During this season, he wed his beloved Margaret Cox of 30 years before her earthly transition. A TIME TO HARVEST: Thomas transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, January 10th at 10:18 in the morning at St. Dominic Hospital. His soul departed from his body and immediately returned to God. In addition to his parents, special Aunt Elease Anderson, his wife Sister Margret Cox, grandmother Cassie Jones, special Uncles Johnny Willims and Jessie Lee Jones, all proceeded him in death. A TIME TO WEEP: His memories will be cherished by his daughters: Dr. Amy (David) Carter of Meridian, MS; LaTonya (Reginald, Sr.) Harper of Gluckstadt, MS; grandchildren: Cameron Sandifer, Zachary Carter, Caylin Sandifer, Reginald Harper III, and Reginald Harper, Jr.; five great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Close friends include LTC ® Velma Carr, Dr. Lucious Wright LTC ®, Caregivers: Jamela and Sabrina and Gail (Bridget), who he cherished in the end.
