Mr. Waggner Earl Christopher

Brother Waggner Earl Christopher, affectionately known as 'Wag' & 'Groundshaker', was born June 71h1959 in Jackson, MS at the University Hospital, to the late Jerry Benjamin Christopher Sr. & Trella Mae Butler- Christopher. He was the 3'a of 7 children born into this union. He joined and was baptized at Enoch Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He graduated from Florence High School in 1977. During his high school years, he played football under many positions. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted to the US Army as a Sargent in 1977, in which he received honorable discharge a few years after. In 1980, he united with Jacqueline Bogan (GA), and to this union Reginald E. Christopher was born. In 1985, he united with and married the late Fonda Crump-Christopher(MS), and to this union, Shatina T. Christopher and Waggner E. Christopher Jr. were born. Wag was a very gifted artist. He competed in several art contests for the VA Medical Center & won 1s' place in majority of them. One of his works of art was featured in the BB King Movie, He also painted & presented a portrait of James Meredith, and got to present it to James himself! Wag had a passion for thrifting as well. Families would jokingly call his clothes that he brought to them "Wag's Rags". Wag had a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loved helping people in any way that he could. He never met a stranger and his laugh was infectious to all. Whenever he saw a need or void, he did whatever he could to help fill it. He was even known to the VA Medical Center as the "Doughnut Man" Wag was a faithful member of Anointed, Appointed, & Approved (AAA) Ministry, in which he worked generously to provide for those less fortunate than himself. On Tuesday, May 27mh 2025, @5:14am, at Vicksburg Merit Health River Region Hospital, Wag departed this earth to live in his heavenly home, He is preceded in death by his mother & father, as well as his siblings: Kenneth E. Christopher, Dixie Renee Christopher, Thelma Terrell Lewis, & Jerry B. Christopher Jr., Jacqueline Bogan, and his wife: Fonda Crump Christopher. He leaves to cherish: his dauahter, Shatina (GA), 2 sons: Reginald (LA) and Waggner Jr. (MS), 2 brothers: Curtis Lee Christopher (AL), Columbus Christopher (CA), 1 sister: Julia Lewis (MS), 1 bonus daughter: Brooke Jones (MS), 2 aunts: Delois Gibson (Willie) (MS), and Mary Butler (CA). He leaves behind behind 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, a special friend. Irma J. Fox, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, loved ones, and many more who cherished and loved him
