Preface Before your eves is a brief summary of my life that has been written to capture my time on this earth. The journey at times was difficult, but I enjoyed every step alone the way. I wouldn't take anything for the experiences, the still moments, the conversations, the tears and the smiles. To my family, I leave my legacy of love and servitude. Always remember to put others before yourself. To my friends, 1 leave you the challenge of building one another up, rather than tearing each other down. To my community, please continue to watch over and care for one another. To the churches that I have served, I leave you the thirst for Christ. Chapter 1: In the Beginning 1, Walter Robert Sayles, Sr was born August 09, 1953 to the late Joe C. and Alma Brown Sayles in Jackson, MS. I was the sixth child of elev en siblings. I was proceeded in death by my brother). C. Sayles. Chapter 2: Early Years I graduated from McLaurin High in Florence, MS. I worked at Neely Brothers Construction and Rankin County School District before starting my own business as an entrepreneur in 1995. Sayles and Son Landscaping was a successful entrepreneurship for many years. ? accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and became a member of Ebenezer Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1974, 1 married the love of my life, Catherine Williams, to this union four children were born. Walter and Catherine became foster parents to four children. I departed this life on Friday, March 8, 2019 peacefully in my home. I leaves to cherish my memories, my wife Catherine Sayles, three sons, Walter (Kay) Robert Sayles Jr, Dalvin (Dr. Shakevia) Ray Sayles and Jarlyn Sayles; one daughter, Monique (Greg) A Sayles; five foster children, Elijah, Maurice , Tameka, Martina and Luther Hall; four brothers, Levon (Era) Sayles, Tobe Sayles, Kirk Sayles, Gayland (Barbara) Sayles, and David (Angela) Ray Sayles; four sisters; Ruby Harris, Earnestine (James) Robinson, Lenora (Williams) Harper and Annette (Corey) Chambliss; nine grandchildren, Javier, Roshad, Issac, Myles, Taylor, Malik, Milcah, and Jadon; two aunts in laws, Rosemund Lewis and Sadie Tistsworth and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Chapter 5:1 Have an Announcement Well, folks I have a huge announcement!!! have relocated and want to notify you of an address change. I have gone home to be with the Lord. You know the Word of God tells us that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. (11 Corinthian 5:8) Thank you for your love, support, patience and humbleness. Continue to put your trust in the Lord. I believe that each of you are uniquely prepared with your own individual skill set to do the work that is now set before you. I've had some great times with all of you. I am looking forward to seeing mama, daddy and JC. Well, you know I can get a little longwinded, but this is all the space that they allowed me.
