Preface: Before your eyes is a brief summary of my life that has been written to capture my time on this earth. The journey at times was difficult, but I enjoyed every step along the way. I would not take anything for the experiences, the still moments, the conversations, the tears and the smiles. To my family, I have my legacy of love and servitude always remember to put others before yourself. To my friends, I leave you the challenge of building one another up, rather than tearing each other down. To my community, please continue to watch over and care for one another. To the churches that I have served, I leave you the thirst for Christ. Chapter 1: In the beginning, I, Walter Earl Wilson was born September 18, 1946, to the late Willie and Mary Louise Wilson, in Starkville, MS. I learned education was key to many doors. I was proceeded in death by my brother, Russell. Chapter 2: Early Years I graduated from Henderson High in Starkville, MS. I attended Jackson State University, Mississippi State University and University of Southern Mississippi. I was the first child of five siblings. I returned from Pursue Oil and began a new Chapter in my life. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and joined 2nd Baptist Church, Starkville, MS. When I moved to Columbia, MS, I joined Truevine and I departed this life as a member of Little Rock Church under the leadership of Reverend Clayton Expose. Chapter 3: I have many miles under my feet while working at Pursue in Rankin County, MS, I met my wife, Marva. We enjoyed 13 years, 11 months, then it ended. I understand and received many blessings flowing my way. What aches and pain felt like. What a sacrifice Jesus made on my behalf. I think I did pretty good in this journey called life, that we will all travel through. Chapter 4: I departed this life on Friday, May 19, 2023, peacefully in my home. I leave to cherish my memories, my wife Marva; one son, Bruce (wanda) Wilson of Slidell, LA; one daughter, Angelia Latarsha (Ryan) Walker of Bossier City, LA; one bonus son, Walter E. (LaKendra) Harper, III, Pearland, TX: two brothers, Willie and Charles (Francis); two sisters, Elizabeth (Jodie) Outlaw and Esther Ruth: thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one aunt, Julia Battle: In-Laws. Barbara ( J Lee) Mangum, Brandon, MS: Shirley Taylor, Brandon, MS; Caroline Allison, Brandon, MS; Cynthia (Jimmy) Lewis, Pearl, MS; Arnett Williams, Brandon, MS; Mary Davis, Brandon, MS; Jerome Charles Hobson, Brandon, MS; Mildred (Warren, Sr) Doss, Lilburn, GA; Demetra (Pastor Ronnie, Sr) Brown, Florence, MS and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Chapter 5: I have an announcement ... Well folks, I have a huge announcement!!! I have relocated and want to notify you of an address change. I have gone home to be with the Lord. You know the Word of God tells us that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8). Thank you for your love, support, patience and humbleness. Continue to put your trust in the Lord. I believe that each of you are uniquely prepared with your own individual skill set to do the work that is now set before you. I've had some great times with all of you. I am looking forward to seeing mama, daddy and Russell. Well, you know I can get a little long-winded, but this is all the space that they allowed me. If you want to hear the rest of the story, live your life to get here. Have fun. I know I will be having a mighty, mighty good time. Remember, family should stick together, no matter what, I Love You A!!! Love all that your heart holds dear and show them that you do. Do not wait until tomorrow for tomorrow is not promised to you.
