Ms. Wardene Shavers

Ms. Wardean Shavers, born on April 29, 1958, in Hinds County, was the beloved daughter of the late Eloise and James Shavers, Sr. Her journey on this earth came to a close when she was called home by God on December 6, 2024, at her residence. Growing up in Flowood, MS, Wardean accepted Christ at a young age. She attended Pearl High School and had a passion for painting that spanned over 40 years. Beyond her artistic talents, Wardean found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing and singing. She was an active member of a gospel group known as The Joyful Singers, where her spirit shone brightly. Wardean was known for her warm and inviting personality; she truly was a friend to all. Her nurturing heart led her to share her love through food, often feeding not just her family and friends but even down to the raccoons that wandered into her yard. Family was at the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent on trips and gatherings with her loved ones, creating memories that would last a lifetime. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Tawanda Bell and Neartausha "Piggy" Shavers, both of Flowood, MS; her two sons: Mirion Shavers of Clinton, MS, and Daniel "Buddy" Shavers of Flowood, MS; her two sisters: Maxine Shavers (which was her twin) and Loran (Rodney) McDougal of Jackson, MS; and her four brothers: Bobby Ray (Brenda) Shavers, Joel Shavers, Jessie Shavers all of Jackson, MS, and Gregory (Inez) Ervin of Canton, MS. Wardean's legacy continues through her five granddaughters: Kaliyah, Mya, Aaliyah, Mia, and Mariah; her two grandsons: Zycorrian and Kendarius; as well as her great-grandchildren, one great-grandson, Kailon, and one great-granddaughter, Milliana. Additionally, she held dear the friendships she cultivated throughout her life, particularly with Joyce Smith, Vickie (JR) Jones, and Nathaniel Bryant. Wardean also embraced four special daughters in her life: Nezzetta Johnson, Charity Harper, Tarlisa Myers, and Bianca Carter, who will continue to carry her memory forward. Wardean was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eloise and James Shavers, Sr., her son, LaCorey Shavers, and her two brothers, Charles Shavers and James Shavers, Jr.
