Mr. Willie Earl McLin

On December 23, 1943 in Sandhill Mississippi, Louis McLin and Emma Taylor was blessed with a child named Willie Earl, their first son. Being the oldest son, molded him into the man he became. Family meant everything to him. The relationship he had with his mother was one of great love. He tried his best to do everything for her. They both enjoyed spending time together. Going out to eat was one of their favorite things to do. His father preceded him in death. God blessed Willie Earl with another father, Clinton Taylor, who he loved working with. They were the outdoor guys. Willie and his family, migrated to the Westside of Chicago. His eight siblings were a handful, but their relationships with each other were a blessing and full of love. Willie Earl accepted Christ at an early age and his faith continued to flourish as he got older. He was known as a God-fearing man. He joined Academy United Methodist Church in Harvey, Illinois. He was a devoted member, who served as a deacon, trustee, usher and on the United Methodist Men's Committee. They were responsible for community outreach to the homeless and young men. Later in life, he joined Mount Pisgah MB Church in Sandhill, Mississippi, where he served as a deacon. Willie Earl invested in his spiritual well being until the day God called him home on January 2nd 2023. Willie Earl graduated from John Marshall High School in Chicago, Illinois. He believe in being a provider for his family. He worked in variety of jobs and was a dedicated, hard worker who always gave his best. He was loyal and committed and his 36 years of service to Whiting Company was a perfect example. Willie Earl met and married Nell McLin in 1966. They were blessed with their daughter Chrystal McLin-Harris. Willie eventually relocated from Chicago, Illinois to Harvey, Illinois where he met and married Fonzena Frazier. To this union two beautiful children were born: Frederick McLin & Chawn McLin. Later, he moved back to his hometown in Mississippi. There he met Jean Rucker. They had life full of love, joy and memories that will always be cherished. Being a dad meant everything to him. He demonstrated what love was, what togetherness meant and the strength of the Family bond. He was there to support and cheer on his children whether it was for school, sports and other activities. His children thought of him as a good dad who was tentative, supportive, kind, provider and would give you his last. Their first grandchild Brandon arrived. He loved spending time with him no matter the physical distance between where they lived. Willie Earl had a great love for enjoying life. Western movies, CNN, Talking politics, Casinos, Cars and Jewelry brought him joy. Everyone who knew him knew that he did not like hair on his face. If he had hair on his face, you knew he was having a bad day. (lol) He leaves to mourn his mother, Emma Taylor; three children: Crystal McLin-Harris, Frederick (Melanie) and Chawn McLin, two brothers: Clinton Taylor Jr (Stephanie) and Euclid Taylor (Ann); six sisters: Earnestine Saffore, Beatrice McLin, Mary Louise Smith, Lynn Morris, Giselle Jordan (Kenny) and Dr. Gail Taylor-King, a special friend and caregiver, Jean Rucker; six grandchildren: Brandon, Mallory, Aloni, Madison, Kennedye and Matthew; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
