Mr. Wyatt Adam George

A TIME TO BE BORN: Wyatt Adam George, affectionately called "W.A." by all his family and friends, was born June 16, 1947, to the late Grover Cleveland George and Frances Williamson-George, in Camden, Mississippi. He was the tenth of 14 children. A TIME TO GROW AND SERVE: Wyatt was baptized at an early age at Mount Zion Baptist Church, now known as Mount Zion Kirkwood Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Camden, Mississippi School system. After graduating from Camden High School in 1965, he relocated to Gary, Indiana, and lived with his eldest sister, Lannie. In 1969, he enlisted in the US Army. He was transferred overseas for several years and was honorably discharged with six long years of service. Wyatt decided to return to Mississippi after living in Indiana for several years. While back at home, he met and fell in love with Geneva Mitchell, who became his lifelong friend. Seven children were conceived who shared a special bond with him even through adulthood. Wyatt loved his children and his family, and they loved him even more. His nieces and nephews considered him as an older brother. His siblings were protective of him. He was the life of any party and put a smile on everyone's face. His loving, shy, persona drew everyone he met close to him... just like a magnet; and he met no strangers. He loved to cook and was truly an outdoors "country" man: fishing and hunting were at the top of his list. Wyatt may have been small in stature, but he had a big heart, always giving if he had it. A TIME FOR HEAVENLY TRANSITION: Wyatt made his transition on December 1, 2021. God embraced Wyatt in His arms and enfolded him in His love, exchanging time for eternity. He obeyed the will of God and bid his earthly life farewell. Embracing him with open arms as he transitioned from earth to his heavenly mansion were his parents, grandparents Wyatt Adams George/Lannie Chaplin-George and Adams Williamson/Alice & Fannie Harper-Williamson; brothers: Marion Cleveland (M.C.) "Bo", Sullivan, Columbus, and Kenneth "Billy"; sisters: Lannie Mae George-Dawson, Lucille George-Jackson, and Fannie George-Finch; and brothers-in-law: Joe Nathan Dawson, Arthur Jackson, C.D. Washington, Oscar Finch, and William Barner. A TIME TO REMEMBER: Wyatt leaves to cherish his loving, compassionate memory, daughters: Kimberly Johnson, Pearl MS, Lakeishia (Timothy) Lewis, Brandon MS, Angela (Hilton) Smith, Lena MS, Sanyeka (Horace) Ragsdale, Carthage MS, Saletha (Will) Houseton, Richland MS; sons: Wyatt (Ava) Johnson, Lena MS, and Caustavius "Tay" Johnson, Dallas TX; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; lifelong friend and mother of his children, Geneva Mitchell, Lena MS; brothers: Ollie Thomas (Rhonda) of Fort Dodge IA and Johnny Lee of Steger IL; sisters: Doretha Barner of Camden MS, Nola V. (MacArthur) Andrews of Tylertown MS, Lavern (Alfred) Davis of Mansfield TX and Beverly (L.C.) Johnson of Canton, MS; sister-in-law, Dorothea Jones-George; special niece, Stacy George, Steger IL, who was like a daughter; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends. The Lord made only one "W.A.". He will surely be missed by everyone who encountered him. "And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." -Revelation 14:13
