Mrs. Angela Renee Wright

January 20, 1963 - September 2, 2021

On January 20, 1963, Angela Renee Wright, affectionately known as "Angie" was the second child born to Willie C. Norwood and Gloria Roebuck in Jackson, MS. She was raised in Pearl, MS and cared for by Isaac Johnson, Jr., Doretha Johnson, and Aunt Edna Marie Wright, who all preceded her in death. Angela was educated in the Pearl Public School District. Angela was known for her many talents: singing, public speaking, poetry, dancing, modeling, and outreach ministry. She was baptized at an early age and was a long-time member of Greer Chapel United Methodist Church. Angela was a very active member serving as Vacation Bible School Teacher and Lead Soloist for many years. Her ministry included work with incarcerated females, feeding the homeless, and a gift of praying and healing. Angela met the love of her life, Jeffery Wright, Sr. and they united in holy matrimony on February 20, 1982. To this union, nine children were born. Angela spent many years as a homemaker, taking care of her children until she returned to the workforce. As an entrepreneur, Angela started several businesses. She worked in Insurance Sales and Management and achieved "Top Sales" every month employment. Later she worked as a Substitute Teacher with Rankin County School District. Angela departed for her heavenly home on Thursday, September 2, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband and best friend, Jeffery Wright, Sr. Her children: Jeffery (Ashley) Wright, Jr., Leslie (Willie) Davis, Adriane (Jeremy) Harvey, Elizabeth (Quincy) Harvey, Wendie (Parker) Gartman, Jonathan Wright, Kaitlynn Wright, Jordan Wright, and Kenadee Wright; Eight grandchildren; Zoe, Grace, Will, Jacob, Maggie, Mya, Madison and Carter. Four sisters: Tonia (Anthony) Kersh, Brenda (Dale) Shepherd, Wendolyn (Edwin) Kimbrough, and Benita Howard; Three brothers: Charles (Angie) Norwood, Frederick (Beth) Norwood, and Dwight Norwood; A special aunt and uncle: Velma Mosley and Sammie Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
