March 2, 1960 - December 24, 2020
On March 2, 1960, Rev. Doc Williams and Elaine Amos Williams were blessed with the gift of their first son Anthony Earl Williams. Anthony attended school in the Florence Public School System and accepted Christ at the early age of 12 at Greater Enoch Grove M. B. Church. On Thursday, December 24, 2020, the Lord called Anthony home from labor so that he could finally take his rest. Anthony was employed by the Florence Public School System where he worked as a Bus Driver. One of his greatest joys was playing in the band. As a first chair trumpet player, he received a band scholarship from Hinds Junior College. Following High School, he went to the University of New Orleans where he studied Interior Decorating. Anthony attended Brothers in Christ Church where he served as a Junior Deacon. He remained in New Orleans where he worked until his health failed. Anthony was preceded in death by his dear mother, Elaine Amos Williams, his grandparents; Freddie and Annie Mae-Amos; Hattie Bell and Willie Williams; one aunt, Earlene Etheredge; five uncles, Clement Amos; Hal Williams, Levone Williams; Billy Williams; WT Williams; and one nephew, Porter Elijah Wade. Left to cherish and embrace his precious memories are his father; Rev Doc Williams of Florence, MS; one brother; Dewayne Mark Williams of Florence, MS; one sister, Sonya Teresa Williams of Florence, MS; two aunts, Loraine (Willie) Thomas of Florence, MS; Sharon (Joseph, Jr.) Hobbs of Detroit, MI; Christelle Aden of Cleveland, OH; Mattie Bell Reid of Cleveland, OH; three uncles; Marice (Agnes) Amos of Florence, MS; Curtis Amos of Pensacola, FL; Wendell Williams of Cleveland, OH, Charles (Lenora) Williams of Compton, CA; one nephew; Nigel Sharre Williams of Waveland, MS; two nieces; Eboni Ann Mangum of Brandon, MS and Markesa Elaine Williams of Brandon, MS; eight great nieces and nephews; Olivia Mosley; Baleigh Mangum; Laelah Mangum; Kelsie Mangum; Logan Wade; Carter Wade; Savanna Williams; and Harper Wade.
