Mr. Aree Williams Jr.
April 12, 1955 - February 2, 2020
Aree “Danny” Williams Jr. was born to Aree and Edna Williams on April 12, 1955. The third of four children, he was their only son. Danny accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Chicago's Pilgrim Baptist Church. He possessed a strong faith, and being very spiritual in nature, cultivated a personal relationship with God. His educational journey included Raymond Elementary School, Douglas Middle School, Phillips High School, Job Corps and DeVry Institute of Technology. He was a licensed electrician and a jack of all trades. Along with doing independent electrical work in the Jackson area, Danny held a variety of jobs including Alameda County Sheriff's Deputy, Clinical Technician at Harbor House Chemical Dependency Services, driver and most recently, Utility Plant Electrician for the City of Jackson. A man of few words, Danny imparted wisdom with grace and made an impact on the people around him. He had a lifelong passion for music and played several musical instruments. He loved to attend concerts, enjoyed a good meal and of course, sweets. He took great pleasure in working on projects with his son. Preceded in death by his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory three sisters Faye Fenner and Zetta Toombs, both of Chicago; and Camillia Williams of Las Vegas. His loving children one son Aree Leggett (Tasha) of Jackson, three daughters Tanisha Williams of Chicago, Maya Wade of Oakland and Vanesha Day of Merriville also 2 grandsons, 3 nephews, 5 nieces, 6 great nephews, 9 great-nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
