December 22, 1951 - July 3, 2021
Charles Lee Rembert also known as "Rambo" was born December 22, 1951, in Brandon, MS. He was the second child of the late Nellie and Isaiah Rembert, also of Brandon, MS. Both of his parents, along with his brother Isaiah (Ish) Rembert, Jr, preceded him in death. On July the 3rd of 2021, God called upon Rambo softly and comfortably at River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Charles Lee Rembert attended Carter High School of Brandon, MS. Charles Lee was mostly known for washing cars for 30 years of his life as well as spending most of his time outdoors. Whether he was grilling or just relaxing under a tree, or dancing to entertain his loved ones, everyone knew him to be a fun and energetic spirit that exhumed confidence and laughter. One could always hear him say "Your car needs washing. Don't you wash your body?" Laughter is the best medicine, and Charles Lee did a lot of it, which is why we are here today celebrating his long and fruitful life. Charles Lee Rembert grew up in the community of Brandon where he faithfully attended Pine Valley M.B. Church. Charles Lee was always the first one at Pine Valley every Sunday morning, even when there was not service, you could see him sitting on the front steps. His testimonies at Pine Valley were memorable and had an everlasting impact on everyone. He would always say, "I may not can read, and I may not can write, but I am holding on to God's unchanging hand." Nothing was more important to Charles Lee than his family, friends and loved ones. Whether it was anticipating the yearly Brown-Taylor family reunion, where he travelled to various locations around the country, or looking forward to the Carter High School reunions where he was able to connect with friends and classmates, Charles Lee never missed an opportunity to enjoy life. Charles Lee always greeted and bided farewells with his notorious sign of Black power, a single fist raised in the air. His signs will forever hold a special memory in the hearts of everyone, much like his joyful spirit. He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters; Edna Mae Moore of Pearl, MS and Sheree Davis of Pearl MS, four nephews; George (Rhonda) Rembert of Pearl, MS; Calvin Harris of Lake, MS, Reginald (Micheala) Moore of Meridian, MS and Jason (Melissa) Harris of Pearl, MS, a caregiver/cousin; Eddie Jean Butler of Brandon, MS. along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
