Eddie Lee McGee was born on January 25, 1945 to the late George and Loudella McGee in Florence, MS. At an early age he joined Enoch Grove Baptist Church and was a life-long member. He graduated from McLaurin High School and was a truck driver by trade. He drove for Amaco Oil and Partridge Propane. Eddie later worked for Albert Lewis cutting and hauling logs. He was married to Patricia McGee for 49 years and to this union, two children were born. Eddie was a family-oriented man. His three grandchildren was his pride and joy. Everybody was called "Bud" except them. Whitney was Sugarbear, William was Star and Channing was Cece. Eddie enjoyed activities such as hunting and gardening - especially growing greens and tomatoes. He initiated the FIRST McGee family reunion and created the McGee Family Park. He was an antique collector and the biggest James Brown fan you'd ever know. He could watch boxing and westerns all day long. Above all, Eddie loved him some "Trish". Eddie is preceded in death by his parents George and Loudella McGee; and two brothers George Wesley McGee and Roy C McGee. To cherish his memories, he leaves: a loving wife, Patricia McGee of Florence, MS; two daughters- Dr. Vicky Pilkington of Terry, MS and Kimberly (Scott) Coleman, Florence, MS; three grandchildren- Whitney Coleman of Baton Rouge, LA, William Pilkington and Channing Coleman; three siblings- Carl (Priscilla) McGee of Byram, MS; Betty Langdon of Florence, MS, and Dororthy Stamps of Meridian, MS; two brother in laws Willie Ray Lewis and Eddie Dees. Eddie is also survivied by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
