In this hour of pain, it's the memories that keep you going. Elbert Leo "Pap" Watts was born on February 11, 1939 to the late Elbert Watts and Lula Brown of Brandon, Mississippi. "Pap" attended Evergreen School. Pap gave his life to Christ at an early age, and joined Evergreen United Methodist Church of Brandon, MS. On December 9, 1962, Pap married the love of his life, Lula Mae Watts. Into this union, seven children were born; Reginald, Pamela, Terry, John Glen, Carl, Precious, and Jennifer. He retired after 28 years of working for Smurfit Stone Container Corp. in March 2001. He was a quiet and humble man that was loved by many. He was known for his signature smile and the love for his wife and kids. Pap enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and caring for his wife and family. He loved attending church, until his health began to decline. On December 16, 2021, Pap transitioned from his old life to start a brand new life. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Lula Watts,, two sons; Carl Watts, John Glen Watts, three sisters; LZ Tyson, OV Miller, Velma Robinson, and one brother; John Allen Watts. Cherished memories of Pap will live on in the lives of many. He leaves a legacy on the lives of his children: Reginald, Pamela, Terry, Precious (Michael), and Jennifer. He raised one grandchild as his own Regdrick Nelson; four sisters: Ruby Walker (John) of Brandon, MS, Ocie Watson of North Carolina, Christine Anderson (Alfred) of Rochester, NY, Barbara Matthew (Allen) of Jackson, MI; four brothers; Tony Brown (Brenda) of Brandon, MS, Eddie Brown Jr. of Brandon, MS, Robert Brown of Rochester, NY, Kenneth Brown of Rochester, NY, twenty-four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
