Mr. George Huston Spann

March 12, 1964 - October 13, 2021

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me you rod and your staff they comfort me. - Psalms 23:4 A Time to be Born George Huston Spann was born March 12, 1964. George was the third child born to the union of Tommie and Betty Spann. A Time to Live George attended Brandon Public Schools. George was an outstanding football player at Brandon High School wearing #14, where he played the position of running back. George graduated High School with the class of 1983. He also attended Jackson State University. He was a very hard worker and a craftsman. He loved working in the country with his Uncle Willie with the cows. He also loved landscaping. He always had a generous heart, a huge smile, and giving of his time. He joined Rockstar Missionary Baptist Church at a early age where he sung with the Rockstar Male Chorus. In later years, he united with Pine Valley Missionary Baptist Church. George also known as "Blue Zeek". He traveled the world with his parents, as well as his own military service in the United States Army and the United States Navy. While in the United States Navy, George was stationed on the USS Saratoga, his ship was on a liberty call in Haifa, Israel where he was instrumental in helping to rescue several of his shipmates. In later years, George enjoyed working at Randy Morris' Auto body Shop in Brandon, Mississippi. A Time to Die On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, George departed this life. George was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Spann. A Time to Leave Memories George leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Donna Spann of Jackson, Mississippi; one son Marcus Melvin of Brandon, Mississippi, one grandson, Ke'Mond Martin of Atlanta, Georgia; his mother, Betty Spann of Brandon, Mississippi; three (3) brothers, Thomas (Harvetta) Spann of Leesburg, Virginia, Tarance (Clara) Spann of Byram, Mississippi and Martin (Susan) Spann of Killen, Texas; two (2) sisters, Vanessa (James) Proctor and Cynthia Spann, both of Brandon, Mississippi. He also leaves to cherish his uncles, aunts, cousins as well as his friends.
