Mr. James Alton Trawick

July 4, 1951 - July 8, 2020

James Alton Trawick, a resident of Pearl, Mississippi, transitioned to be with the Lord on July 8, 2020. He was born on July 4, 1951, to Robert Brown and Pauline Beverly and adopted by Jim and Ada Trawick. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Florence High School and graduated from McLaurin High School in 1969. He served in the United States Army, attended Mississippi Valley State University and Hinds Community College School of Nursing and Allied Health. He was employed by the Mississippi State Hospital as an LPN and retired after 25 years of service. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Shirley, and no children were born to this union. He was an avid walker and on-line shopper. He supported the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway for many years. His love for family was shown through his attendance of the Taylor-Bogan-Holden-Carr Reunion and Brown Family Reunion. He was preceded in death by his biological parents, Robert Brown and Pauline Beverly, and adoptive parents, Jim and Ada Trawick; wife, Shirley Trawick; brothers, Jesse ]. Brown and Howard Brown; and sisters, Sheila Kay Stallings and Linda Murchison. He is survived by his brothers: Otis C. Miller Jr. (Jamie) of El Paso, Texas, Charles E. Brown and Robert Brown Jr. of Seattle, Washington, George Brown (Esther) of Madison, Wisconsin, and Dominic Brown of Pearl, Mississippi; sisters. Regina Wilson (LC) of Rockford, Illinois, and Sharon Brown (Wilfred) of South Holland, Illinois; a very dedicated nephew, Charles Rogers and his wife, Anita Rogers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
