Mrs. JoAnn Burch Love

“A Time to be Born, and a Time to Die” Jo Ann “Bella” Burch Love was born October 19, 1962 in Jackson, Mississippi to Carl C. and Earie Kersh. Burch. She parted this life on December 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her, brother, Timothy. “A Time to Plant” She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi where she served as Youth Sunday School Teacher while in high school, junior and senior choir member, while living in Mississippi. While living in San Diego, California she was a member of the multi-cultural, multi-ethnic & multi-generational church, Bayview Baptist, pastored by the Reverend Dr. Timothy James Winters. She returned to Mississippi and Jordan Grove where she served as assistant secretary, youth choir director and sang in the choir. Jo Ann attended Carter Elementary School before desegregation and Brandon Elementary School in Brandon, Mississippi. She attended Pelahatchie Elementary, Pelahatchie Middle and Attendance Center in Pelahatchie, Mississippi where she graduated in 1980. She graduated from Hinds Community College with honor with degrees in Office System Technology and Computer Network Technology in 1982 and 2001 respectively. As a Phi Kappa Phi, Suma Cum Laude graduate, she graduated ranked number one in her class from Jackson State University in 1993 with a BBA in Management and ranked top in the top 10% from University of Phoenix, San Diego with a Master of Business Administration degree. She accomplished all this while holding down a full-time job. “A Time to Love” She relocated to San Diego, California and was united in holy matrimony to U. S. Naval Petty Officer, Michael P. Love, on April 18, 1995. This union was blessed with three children, fashion design Love, if you really knew her, loved music, smiles, laughter, and was a print and runway model for several years. She loved people and if she had it to give, she gave; always willing to lend a helping hand. She had an amazing thirty-year career before retiring in 2013 after injures in the workplace and being diagnosed with cancer. She has saved organizations millions of dollars. Love has led international, diverse work teams and conducted numerous workshops throughout the United States on Maintaining a Healthy Relationship, Building Self-Esteem, Team Building and Conflict Resolution over the years. While in junior college, she worked in a student program for the Federal Aviation Administration. After graduating she worked temporarily for the Internal Revenue Service and U. S. Southern District Attorney’s Office. She began her permanent professional career at Packard Electric’s Warehouse where she was a Return Material Manager. She worked for the Clarion Ledger as a Retail Advertising Auditor and District Sales Manager and served as a Senior Business Analyst for Gannett/USAToday. After relocating to San Diego, California she worked temporarily in Sorrento Valley for a time management company as an Accountant and Info Tech Assistant before landing a position with the Girl Scouts, San Diego Council as a Lead Marketing Specialist. After her husband retired, she relocated back to Mississippi where she worked for Girl Scouts of Middle MS as a Director of Adult Services & Information Technology. While at Middle Mississippi she joined the American Society of Training & Development where she served as Vice President of Communication & President. She worked for the State of MS as a Personnel Office, Program Manager and Senior Program Administrator. She owned and operated a desktop publishing and website design business, Expand Central, until her health failed. What’s in a name? Ask her loved ones. Jo Ann was known as “Ann” to her mother, “Jody” to her, Aunt Flora, “Tee Tee” to Michael, Kiara & Raven, “Sweet” to her husband, Michael, “Josy” to her sister, Cassandra, “Jo” to many of her friends, “Bella” from her modeling and fashionista days which she kept as her middle name to honor her Aunt Bell who was born on the same day, (October 19), who hosted birthday parties for her from the time she was one years old until her early twenties.
