Ms. Latrisa Sharelle Ward

Latrisa Sharelle Ward, lovingly known as Rell, was born on December 5, L977 to Annette Ward and John L. Brown in Jackson, MS. She was blessed to also be reared with the helping hand of Frances Horne. Latrisa was joined in Holy Matrimony to Anthony Smith to which no children was born into this union. One sister, LaQuanda Denise Ward, and grandmothers, Frances Horne and Irma Mae Ward preceded her in death. Latrisa attended Jackson Public Schools and graduated from the "almighty" Provine High School "Ram City" Class of 1996. Latrisa was raised in church and baptized at an early age. Latrisa was a long time member and attended Solid Rock International Ministries, pastored by Apostle Dr. Ted G. Watson, Sr. Latrisa had several hobbies which includes the love of singing, dancing, writing poetry, and the love of football Dallas Cowboys, which she called "Dem Boyz"; she was also a loyal member of the Flying High MC, she was fondly known as "Mz. Jiggy". Latrisa was employed at MS Department of Employment Security WIN Job Center, it was obvious she loved her job and her coworkers. It is known that our Lord God never makes no mistakes and in His infinite wisdom, deemed it timely on Thursday, January 25, 2024 to call His precious daughter to eternal rest. Latrisa's death leaves a deep and personal loss to all who loved her and was blessed to share precious moments in her life. Although she will be deeply missed, there is peace in knowing that we can confidently say "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." it is also comforting to know she's with her sister again. Latrisa leaves to cherish her memories her loving mother Annette Ward; her father John L. Brown; three sisters Latoya Ward (Jeremy), LaFran Ward, of Houston, TX and Devin Ward Wilson; four brothers Johnathan Ward, Sean Snow (Faye), and John Brown, Jr., Eddie James Wright; three aunts Mary Collins (Charles), Mary Ann Evans, and Lynn McGinty; six uncles Louis James Horne, Jr., Clarence Ward, David Ward, Teddy Brown, L.C. Brown, Victor Brown, and Fraternal grandmother Virginia Brown; seven nieces Tae'shawndra, Chrishawna, Marandy, Paris, Akayla, Janiya, Chrisslyn; two nephews Rico, and Raeshawn; six great-nieces; two great-nephews; one great aunt, Darlene Fairley Jones; three special friends Rosie Collier, Teresa Jones, Myles, and a host of other nieces nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
