Mrs. Lois Jean Redd-Sutton

October 31, 1943 - April 3, 2022

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. " -John 11:25-26 Mrs. Lois Redd Sutton was the 4th child born to the late Mr. Vernon "V.D." Redd and Mrs. Lucy Fultz Redd on October 31, 1943. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ellis Anthony Sutton, and three sisters: Eva Russell, Inez Washington, and Grace Logan. Lois confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church, now known as Trinity United Methodist Church. She was an active member and served on the Food Pantry Ministry, Angel Tree committee, and various other roles until her health began to fail. On November 10, 1959, Lois united in holy matrimony to Robert E. Sutton, Sr., whom she affectionately called Edward. To this union, three children, eleven grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren were born. Lois attended cosmetology school in Chicago, IL where she began her lifelong profession as a hair stylist. She worked tirelessly in her salon, where she developed life-long relationships and friendships that she treasured. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother was truly her most valued accomplishment. She leaves to cherish her memories: a caring and devoted husband, Robert E. Sutton, Sr; two children: Robert E. (Veronica) Sutton, Jr. of Brandon, MS and Terry L. Sutton of Omaha, NE; one daughter-in-law, Sonja Sutton (Ellis-deceased) of Calumet City, IL; eleven grandchildren: Robert E. (Ashley) Sutton, III, Verlencia (Kristian) Myers, Jeremy Sutton, and Epiphany (Jonathan) Porter, all of Brandon, MS; Christian (Kelsey) Sutton, Franklin Sutton, Makeal Sutton, and Cameron Sutton, all of Omaha NE; Ellis "Andy" Sutton, Simone Sutton, and Ethan Sutton, all of Calumet City, IL; 19 great grandchildren: Alana, Aubree, TyNiyla, Tori, Kamden, Kristian II, Kaine, Tristyn, Jaylen, Sydney, Jaxson, Kyleigh, Kolton, Kendra, Corren, Aisha, Amari, Aleah, Milana; two brothers: Vernon Redd, Jr. and Albert Redd of Brandon, MS; four sisters: Betsy Crumb, Clara (George) Spann, Willie Jean (John) Taylor, all of Brandon, MS, Lucille (Arthur) Sanders of Raymond, MS; four godchildren: Angela (Will) Reynolds of Brandon, MS, Sydni Smith of Lena MS, Patrick (Stephanie) Spann of Memphis TN, and Niki (Freeman) Rogers of Pearl, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
