Ms. Mildred Katlotta Prewitt was born in Rankin County, Mississippi and was a life resident of Mississippi until her transition. She was born on September 5, 1952 to the late Elijah and Ida Bell Johnson Prewitt. She departed this life on June 23, 2022 at her home in Brandon, Mississippi. She grew up in Pelahatchie, Mississippi and attended McCall High School until school integration took place and she graduated from Pelahatchie High School in 1972. Mildred was blessed with two (2) children, Demetrius "Scooby” and Greta Denise. She had a devoted career as a security guard for many years. Later, she began employment with Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi as a lead security guard until retirement. Although she worked hard, she still had time to help others and take care of her family. Mildred leaves to cherish her memories one (1) son, Demetrius Prewitt; one (1) daughter Greta Denise (Jeremy) Green and one (1) bonus son that she reared as her own, Dwight Phillips, Sr.; eight (8) grandchildren, Jeremy Green, Jr., Amanda Fay Green, Chelsea May Green, Aiden Christopher Butler, Dwight Phillips, Jr., Leandta Phillips, Zariah Prewitt, Zerwanika Prewitt and Brandon McMahon; one (1) great grand child, Jonathan Prewitt; two (2) brothers, Willie Earl (Dorothy) and Lamar Prewitt, one (1) sister, Doris (Charles) Spann; a life partner, Marvai Phillips and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by siblings, David Durr, Bobby Ray Prewitt, and Linda Harris.
