We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 A Time To Be Born Peggie Ann Stokes Brown was born on April 6, 1952 to the late Paul and Lois Stokes, in Pelahatchie, MS. A Time To Serve Peggie grew up in Pelahatchie, Mississippi. She attended the McCall School. Peggie gave her life to the Lord and became a member of Water Grove MB Church. She later moved her membership to New Beginning Church of Deliverance. She served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and Church Mother. She was a faithful member until her death. Peggy worked at Stanwood Manufacturing for 32 years. She enjoyed being around people, singing, serving the children in her community, and serving others. A Time To Plant Peggie leaves to cherish her memory: Two sons, Don Stokes of Forest, MS and Efrem Stokes of Pelahatchie, MS. One daughter, Dr. Tiffany Ross (Vaughn) of Hattiesburg, MS. Eight sisters, Eloise Jones (Earnest), Spring Stokes, Felicia Stokes, and Mattie Allen (sister-in-law), all of Pelahatchie, MS. Katrina Reuben (Ronald) of Hattiesburg, MS, Constance Crudup (Andrew) of Pulaski, MS, Minyon Patrick (Terry) of Forest, MS, Jeanette Stroud (Benjamin) of Chicago, IL, and Paulette Brown. Two brothers, Greg Allen of Brandon, MS and Bobby Russ Stokes of Pelahatchie, MS. Twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a special niece (Vanessa Stokes), special friends (Kathy Wilson, Gloria Wilson, and Elizabeth Wilson), and friends. host of nieces, nephews and A Time To Die Our beloved mother/grandmother/sister slept away from this world to enter the arms of Jesus at Merit Health Hospital on August 20, 2021. We thank God for the years, the laughter, and the precious time that He gave us with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lois Stokes, and her brother, Roy Milton Allen.
