Ms. Scottye Faye Johnson-Brown

January 17, 1960 - August 19, 2020

Ms. Scottye Faye Johnson-Brown was born on January 17, 1960, to the late, Cornelius Ervin Johnson and Essie Myers Johnson of Florence, Mississippi. Scottye received Christ at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She received her education at Florence High School, graduating in May of 1978. She later attended Hinds Community College. Scottye gave birth to an only child with Orlando Jerome Kelly, a daughter, Kimberrly Dionne Johnson-Byrd on August 25, 1980. Scottye was later united in holy matrimony to the loving, Herman Lee Brown on May 23, 1986, who proceeded her in death on September 9, 2000. Scottye was an outgoing and vibrant ray of light who enjoyed traveling with her daughter and grandson, Derek Tristen Syncere Byrd. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was always there when they needed her. Her favorite television shows included Old Western and Family Feud. She leaves to cherish in memories, her daughter, Kimbérrly Dionne Johnson-Byrd (Derek, Sr.) of Pearl, MS; one grandchild, Derek Tristen Syncere Byrd; two brothers, Dennis (Sallie) Michael Johnson of Harrisburg, PA and Cornelius (the late Christine) E. Johnson, Jr. of Florence, MS; three sisters, Regina (Jerry) Lewis of Florence, MS, Tracy Johnson Morris of Florence, MS and Barbara Johnson of Richland, MS. She also leaves an abundance of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great nephews, and friends who will continue to cherish Scottye's memory.
