Deacon Stephen L. Jones, Sr. was born the 3rd child of the late Charles Price Jones and Wilmer Dean Jones on August 30, 1971 in Copiah Co., Crystal Springs, MS. He was captivated by the love of his grandmother "The Late Blanche Harris”, creating a special bond. He graduated with the class of 1990 from Crystal Springs High School. Later on that same year, he became employed at Renfrow Insulation as a helper. Through years of devoted service, he advanced from an Insulators' assistant, to operating as a driver and senior insulator. He was very devoted and passionate about his job and worked there diligently for 30 years. He moved to Rankin County. Years later he met his soul mate and love of his life, along with that union he was blessed with a sweet 4 year old daughter and loved her unconditionally. The 3 were bonded in Holy Matrimony August 30, 1995 and to this Union a sweet baby boy was born May 12, 1997. He joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Later became a deacon. Stephen was ordained September 19, 2010. His love for music and singing lead him to join the Morning Star Missionary Men's and Church Choir. He was a very active member. A man of Spiritual faith who spoke few words, but lead through example. He is preceded in death by a special mother-in-law, Mary Mayberry; one uncle, Willie Harris and three loving aunts, Mary Ella Lewis, Bennie Lee Norwood and Shirley Lawrence. Deacon Jones leaves behind many beautiful and precious memories and a strong legacy. He was blessed with a loving and devoted wife, Deaconess LaWanda M. Jones, two beautiful children De’Andria, Stephen, Jr. and future son, Lee; three grandchildren who were his world Jordan, Londyn, Landyn and father-in-law, "Pop" Fraze Mayberry. He also leaves to cherish his memories: three sisters, Pamela Harris, Tracey McGee, Andrea Mayberry; five brothers, Ralph (Anitha) Crisler, Kevin (LaShaun), LaCarlos (Chelsea) Jones, Carlos (LaToya) Mayberry, Nathaniel (Pearl) Mayberry; three special brothers, Reverend Hardy (Tracey ) Johnson, Leroy (Jesse) Thurman and Ronnie Rodgers, eight nieces, thirteen nephews and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
