Mr. Christopher Joel Catchings

In my 27 years, I made my mark on this here world I knew it was sudden but my body couldn't take anymore pain. My lord and savior came and stood by my bed side and whispered, son come on home. Even though you may not see me or hear my voice I'm always here in your heart. Continue to spread laughter and keep your heads up high stay strong until we meet again. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psalm 73:26 Christopher Joel Catchings was born May 17th 1997, in New Hebron Mississippi to Ms. Patricia Catchings and Mr. Reginald Hooker. He departed in life on April 12th 2025 at his home in Dallas, Texas. At an early age he was baptized under Bishop Elder Alexander Williams Sr. In his early years, Christopher attended G.N. smith elementary school which he was later introduced to peewee football by Coach Will who played a major part in his life more than just football. Christopher attended Powell middle school which he developed interests in art, choir and started JROTC. In high school he continued ROTC and continued to thrive in his football career until his unfortunate knee injuries. Chris was crowned Mr. Lanier at Lanier high school, and graduated as one of the top in his class. In 2020 At the age of 23, Christopher moved from Mississippi and started a new journey. In June 2021 he met his soulmate Lamonica Thomas, and they 4 years together and shared a dog buttercup leading up to his passing. Post high school Chris worked at Walmart and after moving to Texas he worked at Edward Don & Company. Preceding in his death: Grandfather Troy Lee Catchings Sr, Uncle John Robert Catchings, Aunt Trina Catchings, Cousin Jason Bryant. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted partner. Lamonica Thomas, fur son Buttercup his loving "Madooks" Patricia Catchings, father Reginald Hooker, Grandma Daisy Lee Catchings, older Brother Jason Lamont Catchings, older Sister Catherine Shanté Catchings, my little Sister Vernera Le'anne Smith, Nieces and Nephews: Jason Lamont Catchings Jr, Triniti AJ Catchings, Khaden Hubbard, Josiah Lamont Catchings, Jaysa Lean Catchings, Blakely Bannister, Carmela Catchings Aunts: Tammy Catchings, Evelyn Denise Catchings Uncles: Troy Lee Catchings Jr, Elder James Catchings, Timothy L. Catchings, George A Catchings. Also leaving behind an abundance of cousins, relatives, the Thomas family, friends and coworkers.
