Ms. Earline Hayes Edwards

On January 2, 1962, Ms. Earline Hayes Edwards was born to parents Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Robertha Hayes. She was 9th of 13 children. She departed this life far too soon on January 3. 2025 after celebrating her 63rd birthday. She was preceded in death by her brother Rosedale, mother, granddaughter N'Keetra, brother C.L. Hayes, brother W.L. West, and father. Earline grew up in Florence, MS where she attended Florence High School. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Spring Hill M.B. Church in Florence, MS. Earline, served as a member of the choir. She was also a faithful member of The Florence Gospelairs, a group founded by her parents. In 1992, she served as a Teacher's Assistant at Florence Elementary School (Rankin County school District). Earline touched so may student's lives as an educator fulfilling her purpose of educating God's children. After fulfilling her purpose of teaching God's children, in 2002, she became Lead Cashier for Kroger (Richland and Brandon). While employed at Kroger, she was able to spread her love by being a social butterfly. She always made sure her customers felt her loving spirit. Later in life she retired from Kroger and enjoyed being a Nana. She showed tremendous love to her children, grandchildren, and family by decorating for multiple events as well as showed her creative side by creating multiple decorative designs as a small business owner of Mama E's creations. She began working for New Jerusalem Christian Pre-School in July of 2022.; as she wanted to be closer to her grandchildren and spread wisdom and love to other children. Earline was once again fulfilling her purpose of working with children and showing creativity. Earline, retired May 2024; as she was motivated to live life to its fullest. She continued to decorate and create. She was able to express her creative side and her religious relationship by spending time to self-reflect and with family and friends. The loved ones left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy include: her children's father Calvin Edwards of Braxton, MS, her children; Willie Edwards of Ridgeland, MS; April (Justin) of Jackson, MS; and Crystal of Brandon, MS. Her grandchildren: Kamiya, N'Keetra, Allison, Justin, and Julius, siblings; S.L. ( Helen) Hayes Florence, MS; Jimmy (Marie) Hayes Clinton, MS; George (Louise) Hayes Florence, MS; Maggie Johnnie) Washington Jackson, MS; Lola Quinn Columbus, GA; Arlena (Jeff) Burns Clinton, MS; Abram (Marilyn) Hayes Jackson, MS; Robert (Amelia) Hayes Jackson, MS; James Hayes Jackson, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.
