Mr. Gary Len Holloway

Gary Holloway was born on January 20, 1973, to Lillie Holloway and Johnnie Walker. Gary departed this life on Monday, December 11, 2023 at home. He will truly be missed and forever in our hearts. Gary accepted Christ at an early age and joined Rock Star Missionary Baptist. He was in the Sunbeam/ Junior Choir, Boys Scout, and Rock Star Boys Softball Team. Gary began his education in Brandon, MS. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1991, where he was very active in sports. Gary played football and basketball which included several championships. Later, he attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS where he continued his football career. Gary loved sports. He continued to play softball with the softball leagues in Jackson, MS and Houston, Texas. Gary moved to Houston, Texas where he leveled up his career and began coaching with Houston Power Football League. Gary was a hard worker and love playing sports. He also enjoyed watching sports, chatting on the phone with his friends and family, grilling whenever it was a beautiful day. He enjoyed hanging out in the yard with his best friends Ken Melvin, Pat Minor, Patrick Cannon, Eugene "Bo" Melvin, Randy Melvin, Keith Craine, and Michael Ray Hobson and Antron "Twoon" Taylor, Thomas Cain, Roland Walker, Loren Stephenson, Rick Stewart, and DeAngeles Baker. After several years in Houston, Texas, Gary's health began to fail and he moved back home to Brandon, Mississippi. Gary endured numerous health issues over the past few years and overcame them when he wanted to give up. Gary leaves to cherish his mother, Lillie Holloway, father, Johnnie Walker (Prentiss, MS) one beautiful daughter Bria Keianna Holloway (Bradford Thomas Jr.), Atlanta, GA and son Da Nay Kenyun Johnson, Richland, MS; three sisters, his oldest and best friend, Sherry Holloway (Brandon, MS), Angie Bridges (William Bridges), Margie Griffith (Chester Bridges) and one brother Chris Walker (Lola Fairley). Two living Aunts: Katie Eubanks JB Eubanks preceded him in death), Betty Crain Joe Lewis Crain), Three aunts preceded him in death which were Francis Harris, Gloria Spann (Earnest Spann) and Geraldine Spann. Four Uncles: Two living Arthur Jr. (Rose Wash) and Greg Wash Sr. (Katie Lewis) and Two preceded him in death which were Earnest Caston and Robert Wash and his grandparents Arthur Sr. and Sarah Wash who preceded him in death. Gary also leaves a host of cousins. Special cousins: Kimberly Wash-Murphy (Donald Murphy), Deborah "Lorraine" Wash, Deborah Coleman, Willie Joe Crain, Jackie Caston, George Hendrix (Krystin), Bryon Hendrix (Beth), Teresa Wash-Wallace (Randy Wallace), Glenn (Ken) Wash (Danielle Wash), Cindy Harris, Derrick White (Kenyia King-White), John Crain, LaKisha Kelly and Tamora Harvey-Brown (Karrell Brown), Douglas Crain (Sherry Crain) and Jerome Caston who preceded him in death and a host of nieces and nephews.
