Mr. Jason M. Minor

On March 13, 1977, in Jackson, Mississippi, a precious life was born to Ethel Minor and Frankie Blue—a son named Jason Martinez Minor, who would grow to be a man known for his quiet strength, gentle spirit, and a heart full of love. Jason was educated in the Rankin County School District and was a proud graduate of Brandon High School. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, dedication, and humility—qualities that would define his life. At a young age, Jason accepted Christ and became a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where he was nurtured in faith and grounded in Christian values. Though quiet in demeanor, his life spoke volumes. He carried himself with a peaceful spirit and a kindness that reflected the love of God. Jason was a hardworking man who took pride in his work in construction and landscaping. He was dependable, faithful, and never shied away from a day's labor. Whether working under the hot sun or helping someone in need, Jason gave his all. He believed in doing things the right way—with honesty, integrity, and care. Jason was a small man with a BIG HEART. He would truly give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. Known for his beautiful, kind eyes, they reflected the gentleness and compassion that lived within him. His quiet nature did not mean weaknessit meant strength under control, love without condition, and peace that comforted those around him. He had a special way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Jason didn't just care for his own he embraced others as family. He was the kind of man who would take anyone in, help raise them, guide them, and treat them as his own. His life was a testimony of selflessness and generosity. Jason leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving mother, Ethel Minor; his grandmother, Hattie Blue, his beloved children, Courtney Grantham, Christian Minor, Jayden Isaiah Hicks, Jalynne Danae Hicks, Jaysen Balou Hicks, and Jalynda Nevach Martineza Minor; his devoted sisters, Katina Minor, KeAundrea Wardlaw, and Amanda Minor; his cherished aunts, Fannie Haslett, Ella Hunter, Minnie L. Bibb, Bobbie J. Scott, and Didra Blue Bolton,; his uncle, John Minor; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others whose lives were touched by his love and kindness. Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Horace Minor and Ruth Minor (also known as Mandy Minor), and his paternal grandfather, Thomas Blue, Jr. his aunt, Vida Minor, his uncle Hardy Minor, his cousins Cynthia Haslett, Nicole Hunter, and Rodregas Taylor. "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." - Matthew 5:8 Though Jason has departed this earthly life, his legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His gentle spirit, his giving heart, and his unwavering faith remind us that a life well-lived is not measured in words, but in love. Rest well, Jason. Your work here is done, but your love lives on.
