Mr. Joe Eddie Wallace

Joe Eddie Wallace was born on December 9, 1934, to the late James and Lucy Bell Wallace. On Saturday, January 25, 2025, his name was called, and he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Joe deeply loved his family. Raised during difficult times, Joe's formal schooling was minimal, but he began working at an early age, embodying a work ethic that set him apart and defined his character. He was a man of strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication. On April 27, 1961, Joe was united in holy matrimony to the late Daisy James Wallace. They shared 43 years of love and devotion until her passing in May 2004. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with seven children to carry on their legacy. Joe retired from the Rankin County School Bus Shop in 1997 but remained active, continuing to work on cars and tend to his garden until his health declined. His hands were never idle, always building, repairing, and nurturing whether it was machinery, his garden, or the relationships he cherished. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children: John D. James, James S. Wallace, Daniel Wallace, Edward J. Wallace, Beatrice Williams, Frances Wallace, and Jacqueline Jones; twelve grandchildren: Kevin (Veronica) Woodson, Ebony Woodson, James Thompson, LaToya Archie, Chastian Wallace, Shaquonda (David) Rhodes, Torrie Williams, Miercoles Montgomery, Amanda James, Cathy (Charlie) Thomas, Brenda Williams, and Floreece Williams; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Joe is also survived by his six sisters: Annie R. Moore, Sarah Biggins, Vera McCoy, Martha Wallace, Emma Wallace, and Willie M. Thurman, Special Cousin Betsy Lewis Smith, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory dear. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Linda Wallace, one sister Helen Brown, one brother Alexander (Boot Jack) Taylor Sr., Friend Jessie Taylor Sr. and a special cousin Dorothy Warren. He was also preceded by five brothers-in-law: Ben Brown, James McCoy, Robert Thurman, Elijah James, and LC James, and seven sisters-in-law: Dimple Kemp, Edwina Harris, Bonnie Drones, Josephine Nixon, Willean Mack, Mildred Baggett, and Jean High. Joe Eddie Wallace's legacy of hard work, love, and dedication to his family will live on through the many lives he touched. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
