Mr. L G Ainsworth

L.G. Ainsworth was one of nine children born to the late Jessie James and Lourency Quick Ainsworth. His parents deeply immersed him into the Word of God that would become the source of his strength in life. L.G's devotion to God continued throughout his adult life. L.G. was an active participant of Brown Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he devotedly worshipped and served God as Sunday School Superintendent, usher, and choir member. L.G. had the privilege of being a member of the class of 1960, the first graduating class of McLaurin High School, Star, Mississippi. LG. proudly defined his school as a McLaurin Tiger football player, school bus driver (Bus #21), and custodial engineer. L.G., along with his peers, took pride in ensuring that the school's interior and exterior was properly maintained. He exemplified the Bible verse, "Am I my brother's keeper?" by his willingness not only in attending school on a regular basis, but also by driving the school bus. L.G. had the honor of being married to his best friend, Lorraine for 60 years. The love that I.G and Lorraine shared was apparent by those who were blessed to know them. The loving couple was often seen attending church service or simply out enjoying a meal. Their union produced six beautiful children that were raised with love, patience, discipline, and humility. LG. was known to his family as being kind and soft spoken, he always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how significant or insignificant it might appear. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones. Remaining to treasure precious memories are his loving children: Lemuel B. (Mary Ann) McLaurin of Florence, Mississippi, Darrell Craig (Mamie) Ainsworth of Jackson, Mississippi, Marvin K. (Debra) Ainsworth, Sr. of Jackson, Mississippi, Valencia R. (Bayo) Ainsworth of Texas, Glynis A. (Vikka) Ainsworth of Florence, Mississippi. Grandchildren: Lemuel “Dusty”(Andrea) Mclaurin who was like a son, Michelle McLaurin, Patricia C. Ainsworth, Akinola J. Ibidapo, Felicia O. Ibidapo, Arinola A. Ibidapo, Anaya L. Ainsworth and Marvin K. Ainsworth, Jr.; Siblings: Jer L (Edward) Bullock and Alvin Ainsworth; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his adored wife, Lorraine M. Ainsworth, beloved daughter, Felecia D Ainsworth, his parents, and his siblings: John Earl (Mary), Mary Louise Gordon, Enoch Allen (Von), Lindell, Raleigh, and Henry Lee (Esther).
