Mr. Larry D. Pearson Jr.

Larry Donnell Pearson, Jr. "Bubba," commenced his life's journey on September 18, 1987 and transitioned into eternity on April 13, 2023. He was the third child out of five and only son of his beloved parents, Larry Donnell Pearson, Sr. and Vera Lynette Washington Pearson. Preceded him in death are his grandparents, Maggie Washington, Patsy Lee Johnson, and paternal grandfather, Johnnie Lee Pearson. Larry grew up in the Pearl community where he was fondly known by family and friends as "Bubba." This is the place where he went to school, practiced his faith in God and worked. In 2007, he graduated from Pearl High School where he was actively involved in several extracurricular activities, including Junior ROTC, football and DECA. After high school. He attended Holmes Community College. Bubba honored his family's legacy of Christian faith through membership at Mt. Holum Baptist Church, where he was active in the youth department, choir and junior deacon ministry. Bubba believed in the saying that "when you love your job, you never have to work a day in your life." For fifteen years, he demonstrated his love for his job as the Head Cook at Harvey's Fish Hut. He gave full attention to every customer by assuring them, "I'm gonna fix you up." Bubba had a humble spirit, he was an encourager with a heart of forgiveness, and loved to give and receive hugs. He always put forth extra effort to be attentive to others and he lived a full life by doing the things that "Bubba" wanted to do. He loved seeing the world and traveling is what he did. Even while visiting Jamaica, Belize, and Honduras, Bubba never met a stranger. Everywhere he went, Bubba made sure to put a smile on someone's face. Our family has wonderful memories of him which will sustain with us as we adjust to his transition. They include his parents, Larry and Vera Pearson, sisters; Ashley Pearson, Krystal (James) Pearson-Giles, April Roshuana Pearson, and Destiny (Samuel) Phillips; and grandfather, Isaiah Washington, Sr. all of Pearl, Ms. One niece Peyton and nine nephews; Trevonte, Deonte, Adam, Austin, Elijah, Jakari, Braylon, and Princeton, will always have a special place in their hearts for their Uncle Bubba. Three special sister Jada Washington, Katlynn Harvey, and Shikina Hobson. A multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends will cherish memories of him. For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5: 1
